A few weeks ago I met up with a friend in Sevilla. She booked a room with the most amazing view! The back end of an air-conditioning machine. Imagine sitting down on a bench and waking up to find youre headline news around the world while wrapped up in a major diplomatic incident between your homeland and your resident country. I'd want to go back to sleep.
Quick update, had interview last week, got offered the job this morning so I'm a happy bunny. To keep the theme, Happy Easter all, if you're into that sort of thing. If not, just have loads of chocolate. Have also just watched my nephew in a short film called Killing Thyme alongside Brian Cox (the Scottish actor, not the physicist)...nice to see we've got some acting talent somewhere in my family other than when I pretend to be a normal human being
I've been doing it for a year at the University on a fixed term contract, covering long term absence...now got the role permanently. Most enjoyable job I've had for a couple of decades with superb benefits package so didn't want to miss out when they advertised the job. I've got a bit of stability now and can make proper long term plans
Had hoped to be let out today, but because it's bank holiday and skeleton staff , not looking likely .
Just planted some more rhubarb. It's too hot and dry here to grow it really so I need to replant every 2 years. (but I use it to amaze the Serbs later in the year, along with my special jar of Marmite!)
I tell you something . The NHS is brilliant end the staff so dedicated , puts a lot of other places to shame . They work so bloody hard .
