They need to get rid of betting companies from sponsoring sports.

I don’t understand how Sky can have a betting company given their media influence. Surely that’s a conflict.

I'm condemning it right now, just another nail in the coffin of the game I used to love.

It'll just get worse, imo. You'll have the game stopped for almost every incident with managers and players harassing the officials over everything.

It'll be Americanised in no time. Stop clock for ball out of play, allowing VAR to be used whilst TV sells adverts to fill the void and make more money to cover the longer viewing period. Before we know it, games will take 4hrs+ to complete.

Clubs will be using different offensive and defensive teams within the same game within ten years

Does Klopp have a different defensive and offensive line up lmao ?
Surely it would just be the attack for us :)

I said clubs, not Liverpool. We don't do defending, hence us playing Matip :bandit:

I think the issue with VAR is how to apply it in a match

With Hawkeye in tennis or cricket there are only very specific instances in which it can be used. Take tennis, all it's there for is a marginal line call and you get a simple in or out. Both players and all the officials accept it and you quickly move on.

In football they are trying to use it for other much more fluid and ambiguous situations than whether a goal has been scored when it's not clear if the ball has fully crossed the line which is what I believe it was originally called to be used for. If they stuck to applying it only for that one purpose it would work, but their trying to use it to determine the outcome of penalty shouts and so on, and then teams playing with the technology and asking for it for all kinds of middle of game situations, was always going to negatively affect the flow of the game.

Maybe give teams two challenges per game or something is the way forward? Still don't like it but...

I thought the idea was that only officials could call for review?
Of course in practice we know that players and managers will moider them to death regardless of the rules.

It is atm, I was thinking of ways of reducing its impact should we (inevitably) see it become part of the game. Two challenges each restricts it to four an shambles <ok>
