    Here you go Quents -

    "It is my very firm opinion that a top 4 finish this season will come at the cost of complete and utter humiliation next season, in both the CL and the Prem." Quents the rotund Wizardling <wizard> (also known as HIAG on the Spurs board)

    Reality - top 4 finish has been relatively easy for the 'big 6' clubs since the advent of the Premier League - but in over 25 years, only 6 clubs have won that title and 2 of the big 6 are not n that number - Leicester City went on to win the title and become one of that elite 6 - so a concession of "top 4 finish" was woefully inadequate Quents <ok>

    Complete and utter humiliation? 'Ultimately' Leicester City were comfortable survivors in the Prem in the following season and were the only English club to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League. English football did suffer some humiliation in the Champions League when one team were eliminated at the group stage with a game to spare - so you did get something partially correct Quents - just the wrong team <laugh>

    "In the CL, for example, even Leicester's fans cannot think that they, with their Wimbledon-esque brand of park-the-bus-then-hoof-it-up-the-park-for-Vardy football, is going to be anything other than the poorest grade of cannon-fodder for proper football teams?" Quents the rotund Wizardling <wizard> (also known as HIAG on the Spurs board)

    Ouch!!! <doh> how funny in hindsight eh? - the only cannon fodder were the club that failed to get out of the group stage of the Champions League and ended up suffering some "complete and utter humiliation" in the Europey by having their pants pulled down by a bunch of Belgian plumbers on a stag weekend in London <laugh>

    "We get enough annual embarrassment in Europe, as Englishmen, from the likes of Arsenal; the last thing we need is the likes of Leicester embarrassing us in a noddy cup competition!" Quents the rotund Wizardling <wizard> (also known as HIAG on the Spurs board)

    Fookin' hilarious Quents - how did it go against the Belgian plumbers again?

    "Do you lads agree with me that Leicester City will, inevitably, spiral back down, next season, just as quickly as they spiraled upwards this season?
    Secondly, do you think that even if they do make top 4 this season, ultimately it will have a detrimental effect on them, next season?" Quents the rotund Wizardling <wizard> (also known as HIAG on the Spurs board)

    Even funnier Quents - Leicester City were well outside the top 20 of the world's richest clubs when you made your "predictions" above - they are now the 14th richest club in the world and look to be well on the way to becoming an established top 10 club in the EPL

    Prescient!? <laugh> fookin' hilarious mate <cheers>

    HIAG, finishing in the top 4 did not come at the expense of humiliation in the league or the CL.
    The season after they won the title, they achieved their second highest top flight finish in 17 years, and went further in the CL than any other British team.
    <doh>

    Explain to me how finishing 12th in the PL is humiliating for a club like Leicester? <laugh>

  17. Because they and the media were all talking about consolidating on the title and finishing top 4 the following season. It was as though they hadn’t twigged that their title win had been an utter fluke!

    Also, they were forced to sack the manager who had won them the title because he was taking them down!
    How is that not humiliating?

    So they didnt finish in the top 4 the following season, so what?
    A team failed to meet their target.
    Would you say it was humiliating for Spurs when certain players warned Leicester they were "coming for them", but then ended up finishing 3rd.
    Was it humiliating all those years Spurs were trying to get top 4 and failing?

    No one expected Leicester to get anywhere near the top 4, let alone win the damn league, anything that happened after that, was surely just a bonus for Leicester, seeing as it was only their second season in the top flight (for that stint at least).

    You were at odds with literally everyone else, Spurlock too.
    Everyone giving credit where its due and singing the praises of Leicester, while a few bitter little spudlets sat in the corner gritting their teeth because Little Leicester had the audacity to achieve something Spurs never have. Was a very poor showing indeed
    <laugh>
    And the fact that you are quoting **** I said years ago, and still moaning about it, and maintaining you were "right" about some ****.
    Love it.
    Like I have told you many times....move on Les.

    (p.s THAT was a rant <ok>
