Went today as busy tomorrow. Was very good. Wouldn't be out of place in Whitby at all. Haddock and chips with mushy peas. Fish was excellent (skin removed by request obv), chips were decent. Price was reasonable considering some of the prices I saw.
I went in that little chippy down whitefrigate last week. They did a fish buttie. Had to have one. Got a haddock out cut it in half and put it in a bread cake. Nice.
It always surprises me how many people can't tell the difference. Apart from the taste, the texture is firmer.
Beans belong on a full English or with corned beef hash (dry type) only. It's like having BBQ chicken on a pizza, no you ****ing don't dirty bastard.
As a bit of a foodie traditionalist and snob, my absolute guilty pleasure is donner meat and chilli on a pizza. I know it’s an abomination and I’m the type to normally say “they wouldn’t have pizza like that in Naples”, but in this case - **** ‘em.
I'm pretty certain I've had that myself at some point, probably on a drunken night out. It was probably nice, it sounds it.
Xcell food at Heron, along with ramen noodles, kept me alive at university. I'll never knock that stuff.
To clarify I didn’t mean as in beef chilli, I meant a chilli tomato base (if possible) and jalapeños liberally spread.
Battered Bangers at the end of a chippy close for the night usually results in being offered the 5 remaining ones in the warmer for free.
