    Well, that was ****! <laugh>

Still far too many with unfulfilled ‘potential’ being lauded as potential WC heroes. Oxfam-Chilblain, Lollana, Henderson, Young, Stones and Sterling <doh> and biggest enigma for me is Rashford. Can’t help thinking his will be another disappointing international career. Promises much (and there’s talent there), but strolls around like a superstar and offers very little.

    YAWN!!!"

    Strange group of ****ers.<monster>

Well var actually seemed to work. Got our goal right and spotted the pen. Was unlucky, 3 collided into 1 and he’d pretty much lost the ball st the same time the polish guy trod on his foot which is a foul.

    No problems really with VAR
I don’t get why they just don’t stop the clock while decision is made though to save discussions over extra time

tv cant afford the lost time?

imo they need to speed this sizzle up. if it takes longer than a minute theyve done it wrong. one arm should be goalline tech buzzer and other should be var incident or draw the box and straight over to tv. players blocking route and getting close =auto yellow. mike ref so we can all hear call.

    how ****ing hard is it.

better yet place 4th offical to look at screen and make call and save this bullshit ref is god ****ology and stop hum having to run half pitch to a tv.

    get on with it!

Yeah totally agree but until the powers that be realise you are right we keep losing match time so I would like to see the watch stopped.
I think that this has got to be deliberate as the answers are so simple they wouldnt be making such a pigs ear out of it lmao :)

They'd sell short adverts to fill the time. Just one step closer to Baseball / Americanism

All these futile attempts to somehow make the game "perfect" and free of error will just ruin it.

Downfall is it’s own success. So much money in game now that small mistakes can have such a huge impact financially.

    I don’t mind the adjustments
It is not the game I grew up with but I grew up with the ability to pass back to the goalie.
People whinged when that happened but now people prefer it.
It always as matter of opinion, those that like the attacking flowing football will be generally happy with back pass rule. Those who like to see good defensive work would possibly miss the rule.
I liked it when goalies were bundled over the line :) it’s all personal preference

you hardly ever see a decent goalmouth scramble anymore.<grr>

we need more mud in the penalty areas though not as much as the old Baseball ground which was just mud.<laugh>

There's always a temptation to tag anyone who dislikes any change as being a Luddite or behind the times, but not every innovation is an improvement.
VAR may help under certain circumstances, but at other times it interrupts the flow of the game - and it still doesn't remove subjectivity.
I said a vain attempt at perfection because that's what I think it is. A fast moving contact sport will always have controversial issues that no amount of tech will resolve. It's possible to analyse things too much.

Think IBWT hits it in head
    The problem is the money
It will always be the money

Remove all of the available angles and get back to basics
    Remove the press coverage
stop the constant reviewing of the decisions
Only ones that can debate are those who were there but it won’t happen

I would never accuse anyone of being a Luddite :) it’s a bit like the Mary whitehouse argument. I never understood why she used to watch Tom and Jerry to then moan about it. Tv s come with an off button.
The day I stop enjoying football is the I stop watching
The day I get fed up of whinging I stop coming on this forum :)

My biggest fear. Eventually it will be "let's go to var sponsored by paddy ****ing power' <grr>

Not for me, we're going to ruin the game.

It's slowly going to become a non contact sport now too with var and penalties given for all sorts.

You already hear ****e like 'there was contact' and 'entitled to go down' and this is just going to make it worse.

Most pundits or commentators are ex attacking players though.

Do we hear Thomo Lawro and nev say things like that?

Wondering if it's the mindset of whoever is commenting on these incidents as attacking players always want the advantage.
