So you’ll be happy to know we are unlikely to be disagreeing much If Rad had bought ER and spent modestly this season, leaving himself scope to spend heavily next, I’d have been happy - the comment from PH about a mid table budget tells me Rad is not going to spend enough to have anything other than a run of the mill squad - so to go up we need to retain our few good players (we’ll be lucky), buy a few players wisely, get lucky with a number of yoof players turning out to be superb, and PH turning out to be a genius ....... yes, I know
Morning all. Kinnear comments can be taken many ways. Does this mean that if only 12k Renew season tickets, read that figure somewhere last night, that’s all that will be reinvested in the squad? Effectively shifting the blame to fans who don’t buy. Is he reading Chesh and Marcos comments here perhaps about non attendees. Maybe if shaks could double his alcohol intake in the ground we might even get a top striker with the proceeds. Maybe the 606ers have more clout than we thought

Lessons were learned: You bet they will have been because Radz will be booed every time he turns up, he will become a pariah simply because his PR machine built up expectations. Those expectations were the biggest we've had for years and years and all to be trashed. I think Radz will be hurting because he can already see some fans turning against him. I believe he will do whatever he can to sort the mess. Chuffed for young Lewis and his family and Lucy Ward last night was like a proud mum. Cook is the type of player we need to produce not the look good one minute kid who falls flat like Dawson, Mowatt, even Charlie Taylor cant get a game with Burnley and our so called future England right back Byrom has vanished too. Cook and a few years earlier Delph have been the highlight of our academy for years. After slagging off our academy system for months I now hold my hands up and see the fruits of Ortas work. Credit where due every team at TA is flying and scoring for fun, even the U23s are now climbing high in the tables and look like promotion to Cat A status beckons so that we can compete with the top clubs again. We have around 5 strikers ranging from 17 to 22 who could force their way into the first team from the academy.
I just want to make sure that I have not misunderstood the situation at Elland Road. To my way of thinking the hierarchy have taken responsibility for messing up this season. This being the case, should they not be digging deep in THEIR pockets as a way of getting us out of the mess they have created.
Its all over the press that Kinnear has said big spending and changes this Summer, so if thats true we will see a new wage structure to get some more experienced UK players
Having studied the spend and market values of the squads, it’s pretty clear we won’t be going up without seriously big spending. There is the ‘genius manager’ scenario too of course but it’s pretty rare (and isn’t called PH). I dont believe it will happen, PH said he expected a mid table budget, he must have based that on what he’s been told. But of course I’ll change my view if Rad delivers on this PR. Until he does I will assume he ain’t going to. I think now, Rad has had his honeymoon period, PR will no longer help him, he needs to show by his actions he wants promotion.
He will probably change tack now and become Mr Happy clappy. Got to make sure he is the opposite to the rest of us, cant start arguments if we all agree with him.
