Glad you cleared that up for us. <doh>
Do you live in a world where everyone gets what they want?

I will make this as simple as I can in the hope you just might understand it. Every other club owner wants the premiership riches. Only three year olds believe these things happen if you wish hard enough. Capiche?

To be honest, I don't think it matters if it has been lifted or not. I am fully expecting this batch of current loan players to depart and the next batch to walk in through the door.

Even if the Embargo is lifted I am not expecting any big name players, they cost a decent wage and they need to be tempted to join a club with ambition, we seem to lack both those attributes. Cellino signed Doukara for a reported £1.5m and if that is the quality we can expect then Cellino's investment in players is no better than McD or Warnock.

    With respects Sniffer,

I personally would feel safe in saying that neither Redders, or Redders and Thommo together can get us promoted. When you look at Thommo before Redders brought his best pal to Leeds, what exactly is it he achieved at Huddersfield? they finished below us if they don't get awarded 3 points for the Blackpool half game, although that game may be under review / investigation as the league table is showing they both played 45 games only, not 46.

I personally don't believe our 5 losses on trot had anything to do with Thommo leaving, if anything, it should've give the players more inspiration and umph, which it didn't.

I respect your opinions and what you're trying to say but it would only happen without Thommo and Redders.

I agree with you and also think we'll do better next season than this one, does depend on the new coach, who goes, who stays and who comes in, but I also believe we can do better with the squad we already have, a good coach will know how to bring the players along and get them enthused, irrespective of background noises.

Evening LL. I'm not necessarily thinking that Thommo was a super coach and that's why went on a losing streak but I do think the upheaval just as we seemed to be in a period of relative stability (for us) contributed massively to the run of poor form. Sol Bamba all but says as much. Poor decision from the board I think.

I too Thought thompson would not do a great deal when he was picked by redders to coach with his history at huddersfield but he seems to click with redders and that can only be better for leeds as leeds went on a 5 match winning streak and that was not only down to redders it was both of them clicking together i know its not the ideal coach and manager but if they can get us promoted and no one else has done who is well known , then we can search for the next big name when we are premier league , i do like mick mc carthy as he could be a good fit been from yorkshire thats if ipswich DONT get promoted in play offs and also i like the no nonsense of big sam but he would cost some money to come

yes BUT redders cannot name anyone as its not his place to its cellino in charge paying all the players and staff wages and paying for players who come in , so this is normal a manager NOT naming anyone coming in AND dont forget cellino could not say or do anything as he was banned till last week , dont worry leeds will come good , what would you say if leeds win their first 5 matches on the trot next season and go top of the championship ?

    Sniffer, with respects,

I believe football managers are not bound by any regulation that forbids them from mentioning any names of footballers who want to play for Leeds, but I could be wrong, also, the media never mentioned any names, and I'm sure they would if what Redders said was legit. I've also never read or heard of any top player saying they want to come to Leeds, to play for us of course, not as a spectator, but I don't read every football mag or personal player profiles either. If anyone on here, or other forums knew the names of top players who said they wanted to come play for Leeds then they too would've mentioned it.

Also, if any top players wanted to come play for Leeds, would they go to Redders, who has no authority, or go straight to the owner/s or sporting director, it does raise a few questions.

Has Redders included all these top players on his "to get list", which he's handed to Cellino apparently, he's also mentioned a few names of players he'd like to bring to Leeds, not top players, but still players.

Grayson was quoted once as saying he would love to come back to Leeds, later he claimed Leeds wanted him, but he rejected the offer.

I'd say "we have a good chance of finishing top two, or the playoffs at least" then change my mind if we lost the next 5....:emoticon-0140-rofl:

manager redders may not be bound by regulation of mentioning a player who wants to come to leeds BUT YOUR FORGETING the player he may want to talk about can be under regulations of all sorts at another club ie 1 such thing is he"s not allowed to talk to another club this does not mean he has talked to leeds or even been approached but he might not want to be under suspicion of wanting to leave thus jepordizing his place in the team or his team mates thinking he is running out on them and it causing problems in the team therefore he could ask redders to be quiet about it , I AM SURE YOU HAVE NOT THOUGHT ABOUT THAT YES ? there are lots of reasons redders wont mention names i would be here all night trying to explain them , you clearly dont understand this or maybe NOW you do ? the saying is fans are fickle and its true if leeds start next season by winning the first 5 matches and are top of championship leeds will be the best team ever , i have been there so many times ! i beleive that we are going in the right direction the sacking of thompson when the team was on the boil was a mistake but who made it ? nobody knows it was not forced to be cellino in fact i dont think it was as he could not do anything i think it was possibly nicola salerno " or the board BUT you cannot deny that it was thompsons own fault by unproffesionally swearing at nicola in public he should have known better and you cannot have thompson thinking he can do what he wants below is cellino"s comment about it . but i hope he does get reinstated after apologising ready for the new season .
Cellino, speaking from Miami, told the Sun: “I’m told Steve Thompson called our sporting director Nicola Salerno an offensive name in front of other people after the game at Fulham.

"This is unacceptable. The board backed Salerno and I understand this.

    Sniffer,

I doubt very much top players would be contacting Redders saying "can I play for Leeds" most players would know of Cellinos wage structure, I also can't see why top prem players would want to come down a division, unless they've entered the journeyman stage and are close to retiring, in which case they wouldn't be much good for Leeds.

I've mentioned to you before I agree with you that we're going in right direction.

I've also mentioned Thommo deserves what he got for what he did.

“I’m told Steve Thompson called our sporting director Nicola Salerno an offensive name in front of other people after the game at Fulham". I've agreed with this before.

we are both right although 1 difference , i was talking about when i have heard on the radio eddie gray saying that well known players have said they would play for leeds these could be ex leeds players there has been news stories a few seasons ago about alan smith coming back also jonathan woodgate i know they cant now but there are still ex leeds players that play in premier and could be coming near to end of career, below is a link to a story in papers last year http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/05/30/leeds-linked-with-seven-players-including-chelsea-duo/ plus dont you wish we had a player like in the following link playing for leeds now !
