#watfordfc have signed Andi Weimann on loan from Aston Villa again until Jan to bolster their attacking options. Could be involved on Sunday

Until January is better than nothing - and no doubt if Weimann is enjoying his time here, he will be more than happy to stay until the end of the season.

I suppose the club have got to consider that if we do bring in another permanent signing as well, we will have 5 strikers (Including Deeney) and if we do have a partnership strike up that doesn't include Weimann, then he would be surplus, so the whole season would be a bit too much!

But let's hope him and Marvin can strike up a good partnership to start with!

    Doesn't look to be our last signing, either;

Rest assured @kwallerwfc and others, we're still active in the transfer market. Whether it'll be ahead of Sunday it's hard to say.#watfordfc

I wish I could be enthusiastic about Andreas Weimann.

Well, just try. I think this an excellent signing, his enthusiasm and work rate were superb, and if the new improved Princess Marv sticks around, that alone will cause defences all sorts of problems.

go on, explain. Whats not to like? Or would you rather we risked 300K on a striker from a division below us who would take time to adapt and gel?

I don't see Andi Weimann as an out and out goal poacher, but then I don't believe that a player on his own can be a simple solution. It all comes down to partnerships and maybe he is the type of player needed alongside Marvin which will get him being the poacher. Whatever role he plays it has to strengthen the options up front.

For me Wiemann was good generally in every department.....but when it came to being clinical he really wasn't.

Our main problem is this so...he's not exactly the answer to our prayers.

Still, a good addition to the squad, and cheap/free etc.

Weimann showed signs of being clinical when he had a few starts and shook off the rustiness. He was certainly a willing runner & would be the answer to what we have been missing so far in the channels.

If that crazy rumour about Macheda came true that would really change the atmosphere around the Vic!

With him and Sordell up front, we'd certainly have one of the most hard working front pair in the division! It'll be good to see what he is like with a consistent run in the team!

Also, thinking out loud more than anything.... but with QPR in for Barton and Wright-Phillips plus whoever they will be signing in the next week, would it be worth putting in a cheeky bid for Tommy, be it on loan or just a few hundred grand starting bid?!

No way will they get rid of Tommy.

He scored the winner vs Everton recently, he has a nice comfy place in the squad and we can't afford his wages.

Just wishful thinking.... but surely he will drop down the pecking order with 'bigger' names coming in!

I can't see us getting him, just thought it might be worth to enquire...

Personally I don't think Weimann is the answer. I am also not sure that he should be played as an out and out striker and he certainly is not nearly clinical enough when it comes to goal scoring. We now have a bigger squad and there is less chance of Whichelow, Massey and Mingoia getting a start. We are producing plenty of opportunities and need someone who can put these away in order to give the rest of the squad some confidence.
Would love to be proved wrong mind!

I think with a run in the team he could get a reasonable number of goals. He showed at home to Palace and away at Reading that he certainly has the ability to score instinctive finishes. Was a little too similar to Graham for that partnership to work last season, and never really had a solid run in the team. Could be the answer to our problems, but it's impossible to tell. Certainly a good addition though.

I agree and with the news of his fellow Villan signing perm soon it seems he will be able to help Hogg feel at home and settle in quickly.

I think it also means no further signings..........maybe?

Sam Baldock has signed for The Hammers in a 4 year deal, just spotted it on the BBC's breaking sports news page!

Not that we could have afforded him anyway:(

#westham fee for Baldock is around 1.8m. So let's see if he's worth it

@philmcnulty We're reporting on BBC Radio Sheffield that Adam Le Fondre will complete a move to Reading tomorrow. Big opportunity, deserved.
