Good Morning Everyone Lasogga has veen speaking about his future with the German press: "I'm still a player at Hamburger SV and will see what happens in the summer," He was then quizzed about a move to the Premier League. "Maybe a childhood dream will come true," was his answer. "Yeah, I was very surprised when I came here because in the second league in Germany you get five or ten thousand in the stadium and it’s not so big like the first league, the Bundesliga, where you play in front of 50 or 60 thousand, so it’s nice in the stadiums," he said. "In England you have smaller stadiums, also in the Premier League, you have 30 or 40 thousand and it’s nice to play here because the fans are so close to the pitch. You feel every moment. It’s a special time for me." “The decision is not now in my head, so after the season I will sit with my family and speak about the situation. With injuries to Saiz and Dallas should Heckingbottom give Cibicki a last throw of the dice for their Good Friday clash against Bolton? Is it too late for the Swedish winger - Should the gaffer be looking more at promoting the u23's?
Good Morning Ell Cibicki was impressive down at Loftus Road but hasn't done much to shout about since, can deliver a decent cross unsure what else he has to offer going from his limited appearances. Gives me the impression he's a big girls blouse ! Saiz & Ayling are our only players who can get us from box to box in quick time so the Bolton game will no doubt be another turgid sluggish performance
Morning 1964, I liked what you said about out box to box players and you're right. Look at our record since Ayling has been out? Then take into account all the games Saiz was suspended. I don't know about you but I would put that down to the fact we cannot keep the ball. The continuous chasing of the ball means players are getting tired.
Can you either speak more clearly of stop dictating your posts full stop - four exclamation marks.. Jason = chasing? FFS
Eddie Gray has urged Leeds United to shift their attention in the transfer market to “seasoned Championship players” after a year which dragged the club back into mid-table, United’s former manager said too much at Elland Road had “come up short” this season “There’s talent in this squad but there’s a difference between having the talent to look good at certain points in games and having the talent to actually win games,” Gray said. “Talent’s about end product and that’s where I think this squad have been found wanting. The substance isn’t there. The team concede a lot of goals and don’t score enough goals and you have to ask if there are enough seasoned players who you can rely on in the Championship. A lack of pace is a problem but I felt the game at Millwall in September was a big wake-up call. It was 1-0 but it could have been 5-0 and the players don’t cope well in games like that. “When teams battle, we struggle. It’s okay wanting flair in your team and that’s maybe what gets you over the line but you won’t get anywhere in the Championship if you can’t dig out results. “Wolves do that when they have to. It’s part of the reason why they’re top of the league. “The way this season has gone, the club need to think seriously about where they go from here. I don’t think they can afford to think in the same way otherwise next season will be the same. Players need to come in but not just players of a similar calibre. You have to be honest about that.” And Gray said: “There are too many here who aren’t going to make an impact here and now. “The squad needs to be smaller and the average player needs to be better. The club went for quantity and without being disrespectful, there are too many who haven’t shown enough quality. The results and the performances don’t lie. They suggest there’s some major work needed.” “From what he’s seen, I think Heckingbottom will have reached the conclusion himself that this side aren’t good enough,” Gray said. “He’ll be thinking about who’s good enough to take into next season and who isn’t but he’ll know that things have to change. The club need to sit down with him, find out what he wants and then act quickly. “There’s no point in waiting until the end of the season to make decisions because the play-offs aren’t going to happen. It’s not easy to move players on because a lot of them have got long contracts and financially, how many are going to earn the club decent money? “The ones who would earn you decent money you want to keep. But we saw a big turnover last summer and it feels like we need to see a big turnover again"
Morning all. Good points about Ayling and Saiz. We do seem so much sluggish than other teams without them in the side. I genuinely think Ayling has been the biggest miss and a major factor in our recent form. We are so much better with him in the team.
Eddie Gray is spot on. How the feck did we only beat you 1-0 in September - even his 5-0 doesn't tell the story of how completely one sided that game was!!
Morning all A good coach can improve a players performance, we have not seen much signs of this since PH took over, but its early days yet. How many times have we seen players "come up short" at Elland Road only to look better players at other clubs?.
Morning all I think the club took a gamble and the club and fans lost. I dont think the fault was Thomas as can clearly be seen with the state of our team since he left. He was given a busted flush, although a couple of players were treated badly by Thomas. Eddie Gray speaks sense just like everyone on here in fairness, we can all see the quality wasnt there, but we saw potential quality which just didnt come soon enough. Cibicki is a case in point. Looked good when he arrived but 2 games in he vanished. He was sent to the U23s and scored 2 quickfire goals but was then never seen again? What PH thinks of him I dont know, You would think that we need a player out wide who can come inside as well as fire in crosses for Lassoga or whoever to get on the end of, yet Cibicki has been sidelined and Sacko tried and failed as usual. Poor Dallas was given defensive duties so he couldnt provide the ammo, Alioski does his best but when he has had to spend most of his time defending? Friday will be another interesting team selection as we know a couple are injured but should see who is deffo being sold by the state of the bench
Great point this because we have seen plenty who couldn't handle the pressure at ER and the clubs history, but we've also see players who were played out of position, but when they leave are given the role they have always had. I think we saw it with the likes Townsend, Bannan, both were expected to play a more defensive role and we only saw flashes of what they were. Bamba has been given man to man duties at Cardiff but always played zonal at ER. We have a similar situation now where they play zonal but cant do it. WE had a lot of defensive midfielders and defenders under Grayson but as we know he doesnt do defensive work well so these players were crap until they went to clubs who knew how to defend
5-0 did he only watch the 1st half but he knows his stuff mentioned the 2 best sides in the league Wolves and Millwall
Morning all. Chesh wont be happy with Eddy. According to Chesh only fans who dont attend matches are critical of the team.Dont think Eddy has missed one home or away this season and hes not very impressed it seems
Just don't try it on Ram - especially when it's snowing - they don't like to play and tend to call it off........
