1) The compensation packages he's had to pay to the numerous managers he's sacked.
2) The players he signed when he arrived (which people like you like to fob off on the previous regime); Viduka, Geremi, Smith, Xisco I could go on.
3) Relegation, and the subsequent loss of prize money and TV money
4) Sponsorship: Adidas withdrew their sponsorship because they didn't want to be associated with the negative press surrounding Ashley. Northern Rock stayed but only after massively reducing the amount they would pay. Ashley has also used the club's advertising space to plug his own companies rather than selling it to other companies.
5) Disillusionment of fans has reduced gate receipts and merchandise sales

Too right mate, but try convincing some of our supporters. We've become a laughing stock under Ashley, utterly without class.

 

I'm going to strike until September 1st. 11pm. Then I will evaluate and continue.. Untill then i'm gaming...constantly. I'm ****ing sick of this **** news we constantly get. It was all so optimistic like a month ago.

Some of those points are valid, but any costs have been made up for by savings from other areas. Since he's joined he's either put in or saved far more money than he's cost the club.

This list is all fine and good. I agree with many of them. The thing is though the reasons to hate Ashley are subjective. What about Allardyce, he was sacked too so was he mistreated, or is that fine because almost nobody wanted him? How about Routledge wasn't he forced out too? Just because he wasn't a fans favourite doesn't mean he shouldn't count. But nobody cares because he wasn't that good.

Players and managers come and go it is the way football works. Sometimes you feel angry because you become attached to a player or manager and other times you are happy or indifferent. I've seen more than enough go that I like that I am philosophical about it and don't get upset (although Hughton really pissed me off so an exception there).

I honestly see that Carroll wanted the money offered by the Dippers and the £35m was too good to turn down. Nolan and Barton wanted bigger longer deals than the club wanted to give and negotiations broke down (as they do in all walks of life) and they moved on. Barton giving the club no option with his antics. Enrique, the club tried very hard to keep him but could not match the offer from the Dippers and could not match Enrique's ambition. All of the reasons behind these moves have happened many times and will again. The club however continues and I can't be asked to get too upset because it makes no difference.

Ashley the man I don't like, Ashley the financial runner of the club I support because I agree with what he is doing, Ashley the PR man is a ****wit, Ashley the Footballing tactician is learning and no longer makes the big mistakes which blighted his early reign. But I have seen much worse and until the finances are sorted we are stuck with him. I'd still rather have him in charge than the last lot.

This 10000000% Ashley is not the worst, nor the best owner we had, but he is the owner and we have to endure it and support our team for the time being. Each of these player sales and managerial gaffes is different so to paint them all in the same way is incorrect, some are 100% Ashleys - or more specifically Llambias apparently - fault, others far less so.

 

So am I, but it doesn't mean that we are right.
