I hope it's a clean start tomorrow, I can't be arsed to sit through a red flag after waking up at 5am here in the UK. If Ferrari can keep it clean (and their race pace is decent), they might as well copy from last years diary (it worked then).

Will be keeping an eye out for HAAS, lets see if the boys can gather some hefty points early on in the season before others out-develop them. Bottas has had an awful start to the season, it won't help his confidence at all. He left 2017 with a win and an idea that he would be able to challenge freely. A gravel trip in FP, and a crash in Q... now starting way way down the order.

Very impressed by Kimi, has hit the ground running. A lot of people (including myself) have vented their frustration at his performance, outpaced Vettel almost every session and while losing a day testing due to sickness. Not bad for a 38 year old, it's looking a lot like 2007 on that front row again.

Interesting!!! Cheers for the link. You are probably right about Vettel and the others but why would Toto let the cat out of the bag I don't know.
Hopefully be close in the race and a good fight.

The way I read it, is that Wolff is just trying to build up Mercedes by saying, we are the only ones who can do this. But, it still does come across as putting Lewis down a little. I don't think there is too much into it, I just think Wolff is trying to promote Mercedes and Lewis is trying to get in Vettels head.

Good point, but maybe it shows Williams and Force India to be in an even worse position IF they can use the Party mode!!

If anyone thinks Hamilton didn't turn up the engine up is deluded, but in the race I think Max will be right up there and hopefully Kimi gets though the first corner.

I do believe that he used 'Party' mode in Q3 I think the debate was if he also used in in Q2. According to Toto they only switched 'Party' mode on in Q3. Lewis said that he used same mode in Q2 and Q3!! I am more inclined to believe Toto and Lewis is just trying to play mind games with his competitors. He has recently been very vocal about wanting to beat his competitors when they are at their best!
I really hope the Ferrari and Red Bulls will be as good or even better than the Merc during the race.

So McLaren's best chassis on the grid in 2017 is now 3rd best Renault engine car out of the 3..............

Whilst they are closer to the pace, you have to question why they are not at least splitting the works Renault and RBR to even have a shout at being credible.

Alonso bragging about 'big points' tomorrow could come back to bite him with apparent lack of pace and scorch marks still evident on the engine covers through Friday and Saturday.

Max impatience getting the better of him. Ferrari need a split strategy but that'll leave one vulnerable

I was enjoying watching Max throw that car around. Reminded me of the way Schuey would slide the car about. Shame he over did it.

I'm not really sure what Ferrari could do to split the strat atm. Prolly best seeing how the race develops atm.

All Ferrari can do now is go longer and hope to get something with fresher tyres later on.

Vettel genuinely not got the pace today.
