Give him the job. Played at the top level, coached at the top level, worked with some great managers, knows our club & it’s fans. Also likes a row in McDonalds. He could be our Neil Harris & it hasn’t turned out badly for them.
Appreciate the sentiment, and I am not really qualified to state a solid opinion as I was not at the Valley today. But I feel it might be a bit premature to award Bowyer the job based on one game. Academic anyway of course in the longer term. Unless they are very accommodating indeed the new owners will want their own man in (whoever that turns out to be). But if there is another delay in the take-over then Bowyer will have a chance to build on this early success. Should another two or three games go by and Charlton close the gap further on the play-off places there will naturally be calls to let him finish what he has started. Ironically for me I might never see one of Bowyer's teams play, unless the new owners do give him a few games grace rather than parachuting their man in straight away.
Give Bowyer the remainder of the season as a trial period. He has inherited a dejected shower of sh1te, if he can get them in the Plays Offs that’s good enough. We are unlikely to get better than Bowyer & as the last 4 years have proved, we are likely to get a lot worse.
Full marks to Bowyer. He tweaked things at h/t, bought JFC back to a more defensive role and we saw the game out. Hardly threatened, but never looked in danger of conceding either. We also stopped giving away silly fouls. He got fully committed performances out of Ajose and Reeves. A very impressive managerial debut.
Another question would be does Lee Bowyer want the job permanently? I do not know if he has said anything about it, but if he is in charge for a few more games and he gets more results that question is bound to come up. I cannot recall for sure, but when Kevin Nugent was our caretaker manager last season did he say from the beginning that he did not want the job on a permanent basis? I appreciate the circumstances were different. We were not on the verge of a possible play-off finish to the season.
Robinson was never a good fit at Charlton. Fair enough for SuperC to give him credit for all his hard work under difficult circumstances, but I felt relief at seeing a calm controlled manager in the area.
What impressed me was the way he made minor changes to the set-up at H/T. The game became less open and entertaining,but we got the job done, 3 points in the bag against a form team. This guy has a football brain alright. The players all looked like they knew their job. Early days yet, but I like what I've seen of Bowyer's style.
Give it him and JJ (shouldn’t go unnoticed) until seasons end. The midfield looked far more competent as well as disciplined. I don’t think he necessarily changed things with them tactically (yeah, taken from above) but do think he encouraged more freedom to individuals to Aribo (my MOTM). How Bowyer deals with defeats/harder times is yet to be determined. But he’s staked a claim to give him an opportunity.
I haven’t been there much but it was still very bare. Plymouth brought a great crowd (any reason why they traveled so well). Home support no more than 8k. But I’m **** with these things.
It was so nice not having a David Brent tribute act on the sidelines whittering on about minutes and verticals. Ajose played his bollocks off

Duchatelet is not gone. There now seems to be doubts about whether a take-over will be announced next week. Today was a good result, and the early signs of Lee Bowyer's style of management are positive. But he has only been in the job for just over 48 hours. Optimisim yes, but perhaps not too much premature hope and celebration after one game.
