For what it's worth, I think England look confident, well organised and able to beat anyone, I also think that may get picked off by a more flair team, last 8 is my prediction

It's hard to judge on last night's game because Holland were so poor. England did look ok, but they are a team of journeymen. Last 8 maybe.

England looked good (with a couple of exceptions) up to the point the subs came on, after which we were poor. Alli had a mare, giving the ball away or putting his teammates under pressure every time. Vardy didn’t even get a touch, and Young was nowhere near Rose for quality. Stones still needs to learn when to play and when to put his foot through the ball before I feel at all comfortable with him playing. Thought Pickford, Rose, Ox and Maguire were the pick, but that team won’t start in Russia, so we’ll scrape through the group and go out last 16 as usual.

Hard to judge, I'd like to see the final squad before judging but Last 8/16 seems most likely unless Southgate is a genius no-one has noticed yet...

How did Matthijs de Ligt, their 18 year old CB play? I saw him live a few weeks ago and he looked like a phenomenal prospect. Shame about the Dutch, along with Italy and for totally different reasons, always my favourite foreign national team.

Can't say that I noticed him, I'm afraid. Which I suppose means that he was neither outstandingly good or outstandingly bad. Sad about the Dutch, I'm not sure Koeman is the man to turn it round for them.

I’ve gone to Aldershot v Borehamwood. What an awful town Aldershot is. Can’t believe such a place is only half an hour from West Windsor-upon-Thames.

    Up the Wood.

Paul Smyth matchwinner for NI against South Korea. Came on in the 82nd for Washington and scored in the 86th, completing a strong comeback from NI.

This is excellent news, our youngsters are really coming through at the moment. Makes you feel great as an R fan.

    Keep em' coming lads <cheers>

Great goal celebrations from him too. All the NI players and coaching staff looked absolutely delighted for him

Wasn't it Washington that set him up?

You're right of course. If was misreading the updates (not seen the goal myself). Even better, a proper QPR goal then :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just seen this, well done Smyth. The great thing is he always looks like he's enjoying himself whenever he's on the pitch. Only downside is we will have trouble hanging on to him...
