So are we actually going to the World Cup? In Russia? Despite the use of chemical weapons on British soil?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43512457 England ladies up to 2nd behind USA in international rankings.
Not saying it's impossible, but doubt the government will want to interfere in sporting matters. Dangerous precedent.
No way! After the last interaction with the Russian thugs, I think it’s extremely dangerous to go and I’d like to see the government advising against fans going. Don’t think it’s worth it
Is it me, or does Lingard have about 3 hairs making up some sort of pubescent moustache. He knows where the goal is though.
Despite the saying about not mixing sport with politics, some situations demand that they have to be. Personally, I don't see Russia's actions as much less than an act of war and feel withdrawal would be the right thing to do. Of course it would be a lot more powerful if other countries did the same but I don't expect anything like principles to come into it.
Went to Italy v Argentina in the Etihad tonight....Not the worst match but as an experience it was only matched by a normal day at old Trafford...Tbh I knew that would be the case but I wanted to catch a glimpse of Messi in action for probably the only time but he didn't play! Lesson learned! Just hope Lanzini doesn't finish any chances next weekend like he did tonight
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43504448 I noticed that Spurs, via Danny Rose are commenting on this story, saying Walter Tull should be honoured and awarded the Military Cross. They suggest he should not be forgotten as this week was 100 years since he died in WW1 a hero. The first black officer and one of the first black players. They are right, but hey Tottenham, he already is remembered and already has a commemoration in Northampton, where he played over 100 games. Come and pay your respects up here.
I see England fans are once again showing why they're despised the world over. Hopefully leaving the EU will mean it's a bit harder for these neanderthals to go to away games.
Wouldn’t it be great if all the EU countries who qualified withdrew and played their own competition in protest? “people say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one .....”
You do know that the British went abroad before we joined the Common Market, don't you? Though I agree with your sentiment about the yobs....disgraceful.
