The MIGHTY Gunners, fresh from their mid-week terrifying ordeal against Udinese which literally had me on the edge of my seat, take on the seemingly unstoppable Man Utd. After rolling to their 19th title, despite appearing below par for most of the season, the Reds have kicked off this season in great form, trouncing Tottenham (hooray!!) and proving that youth works.

    May predicted line-up for Arsenal:

    ....................Chesney
    Jenkinson Vermaelen Djourou Sagna
    ...................Koscielny
    ..............Ramsey Rosicky
    ..........Walcott RvP Arshavin

Traore may be fit enough to start at LB, in which case Jenkinson will be benched, and Sagna will play RB

What is the anticipated Man Utd lineup? Score predictions? Thoughts on the game?!

I'm going 1-2 Arsenal, because I'm an eternal optimist!! However, if you always look on the bright side, eventually you go blind.

This should be the worst Arsenal team Man u has faced in a long while. Although we usually keep more possession than man u, this weekends game will see us struggle, especially in the creativity department. I would consider giving Arshavin the Cesc role and see if he can spark some creativity in the game. He usually ups his game against the best, well im hoping he does :p What about the young guns, maybe bring one of them on?

Ill be giving a realistic result this weekend. It will be 3-1 Man U :(

I know the result I would love... an Arsenal result in any shape or form. However I have to be honest and say that is unlikely. :( 2-0 to Man U.

To an extent, I think the pressure is off Arsenal for this game. Nobody is expecting us to win, so we can just go out there and do our best.

That said, I still think we've got the quality to get a result.

    I'm going for 1-1

Well the odds are certainly stacked against us.

However, remember the spirit of Anfield '89.

put our best defender in midfield? koscielny is also a good footballer, as seen last season with his many runs out of defence, similar to vermaelen just without the ferocious shot. we need vermaelen to keep rooney and welbeck quiet, as djourou can have concentration lapses, as seen vs udinese.

  10. I think we should park a bus in front of our goal and rely on breakaways. Not our style of play admittedly but if we frustrate Utd long enough.....who knows? That said, they are very much the stronger side this weekend and despite our midweek euphoria and newfound confidence, they really have the guns on this occasion. Had we made key signings by now, it might all have been quite different.

As I already hinted in one of my previous post, I expect a shock result for us.... I hope Manure's attitude is turn up and pick 3 easy points.... They might be in for a shock. I also think if Spudlings had shown a lot more belief they would have gotten something from their game against them!

I know on paper this is one of the worst teams we have taken to Old Trafford in recent times (well since the days of Luznhy, Cygan and Stepanapovs), but we might just shock them and sneak a draw!

tottenham were good for 60 minutes before they failed. we won't be like that, as seen we played better AFTER 60 minutes on wednesday. getting an early goal in this game seems to be less helpful than in others, but if man utd score early we are screwed. i think if walcott has a good game, then he can provide for van Persie. also expect arshavin to up his game against the big club and for rosicky to continue is form. don't forget aaron ramsey either. last year he scored against man utd don't forget, and our 3 man midfield could dominate their's of cleverley and anderson, with rooney as well; even without song or emmanuel "the legend" frimpong.
