Whereas before the takeover we had the summer of 2014/15 when most of our best regarded talent left. Did that say a lot, too? Vin
They could let is in for a tenner a head really; fiver, even, just to cover the cost of opening the stadium. Matchday revenue is dwarfed by the TV money. The whole game seems to be driven by greed though.
Something like £800 million, at extremely high interest. Not a model one would want to follow; between debt service (from 2009-2016 alone, financing their debt cost £480m), remaining debt, and the portion of the club they had to sell to remain solvent, it has cost them well over a billion pounds.
Fair enough mate, like I say, generally speaking I do agree with what you're saying and I wasn't arguing with your post specifically to be honest. I actually went off on a bit of a tangent in my post to be fair and it wasn't necessarily disagreeing with you per se, was just that your post loosely related to the point I was making and my feelings on the matter
I actually find the whole situation quite upsetting to be frank. You know me better than anyone on here mate and know how passionate I am about Saints. It's widening the conversation a bit and slightly off topic but I genuinely feel I'm not far from the point of ****ing it all off and following non league instead. It'll break my heart though if it comes to that and I never properly introduce my boy to the mighty Saints.
Just put it all out of your mind and think of Wembley And start looking forward to your son's first game - just don't do what I did, and take him to Highbury.
You could do worse than take him on a special trip to Sevilla. Or if he has a slight inkling towards Manchester United, take him to see someone like Barcelona wipe the floor with them. That will cure him.
You can't rid yourself of Saints....they are like a chicken pox virus...think you are cured, then you get shingles.
Ain't got time to fix the shingles Ain't got time to fix the floor Ain't got time to oil the hinges Nor to mend no window panes Ain't gonna need this house no longer He's getting ready to meet his fate
Neither have we, just both clubs actual revenues fluctuate. Ours given league positions or relegation will still drive revenue, just less of it, same with Utd getting less for no or early Champions League exits.
Not really the same WT. We go down, we could be in serious financial trouble. MU getting KO'd from CL early or even not featuring will have a minor if no affect as seen over the last couple years - they didn't make CL but still their revenue increased, as I'm sure their profit did as well (might be a bit out there though on the profit side). Regardless, ours would be ****ing massive and I bet our past experience wouldn't assist either!
You don’t need the face palm. I wasn’t saying it’s the same as United, I was just pointing out that it’s been done before. Too many fans jump all over things like this and point out all the doom and gloom. Gets a bit dull. This conversation started because some fans got upset because we’ve reported a profit and they demand that’s spent on the team. End of the day, it’s down to the owners what they do.
I think people are angry that the owners are making profit while the club is in decline. It’s obvious we needed reinforcements and they brought one player who hasn’t made an impact. Given our poor performance on the pitch that profit should have been re-invested long ago.
Because we waited until jan to sell VVD. If we spend more than we sell in 2018 it will be because we no longer have any players that clubs want to buy.
