Wow. "You can kill the Dreamer, but you can't kill the Dream" Martin Luther King, what a man. He had a dream, he didn't live to see a Barack Obama or Colin Powell, but he contributed to it immensely.
What makes a forum great. Once minute posting about Martin Luther King jr, the next about the return of Kim Wilde http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-43485454 This is one of my all time Kim Wilde moments:
I've got an interview this morning...been doing a role on a fixed term contract for the last year, and am now going for the job on a permanent basis. Not particularly nervous about it as I am the best candidate however like with anything, never count your chickens. I should know if I've got it by next week so it's going to be a long few days waiting for the result. I've had dozens of interviews over the years but they don't get any easier. Fingers crossed
A guy goes in for a job interview and sits down with the interviewer. The interviewer asks him "What do you think is your worst quality?" The man says "My worst quality is that I'm too honest" The interviewer says "That's not a bad thing, I think being honest is a good quality" The man interrupts and replies "I don't give a **** what you think"
The RSPB have taken control of a 1000 acres of the New Forest (previously privately owned)....apparently an important habitat as it has been undeveloped and if managed properly will provide a link between other areas important to wild life. Good to hear when so much wild land is being encroached upon.
I liked that bit in The Office when David Brent is doing staff appraisals, and sees that Big Keith has put 'eczema' in the box for greatest weakness
David: Under "Strengths"... you've just put "accounts." Keith: Yeah. David: That's your job though, that's, that's just-- Keith: --Mmm. [nods]
The interviewer goes on: "Do you have any strengths?" The man says "I can perform under pressure" The interviewer says "Can you demonstrate that, please?" The guy says "Sure.. Mm ba ba de, Um bum ba de, Um bu bu bum da de.... Pressure! Pushing down on me..." Vin
I have indeed, he was teaching in a school in Somerset a couple of summers back and we had a beer one evening
