He should have been in the team this season instead of sending him out on loan and bringing in another young Centre back that never plays from another team ffs. please log in to view this image ROKER REPORT FANPOSTS STUBHUB 7 After a string of impressive performances, Tom Beadling is turning heads in Scotland - will he still be a Mackem come next season? By Tom Atkinson@Tommyakki Mar 21, 2018, 6:08am GMTSHARE please log in to view this image Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images Tom Beadling has been in good form since securing a loan move away from the club. Playing in five games and scoring one goal for Dunfermline Athletic, the vocal defender has been impressive after being given a regular run of senior football in which to prove his worth. The Pars are very much in contention for a play-off position thanks in part to Beadling’s impressive displays, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed. A source close to the player has told Roker Report that Beadling’s impressive displays north of the border are beginning to attract attention, both from his current club and SPL sides keen to see if they could potentially lure the young defender-cum-midfielder away from the north east of England. Subsequently, Beadling now finds himself in an interesting situation whereby over the course of the coming months he may well have to choose between potential SPL or League One football come season’s end. please log in to view this image Should the club offer Beadling a deal to stay on Wearside? Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images Beadling’s deal with the club runs out at the end of this season, so could the club lose the talented youngster for next to nothing once thay time rolls around? It’s likely that the club will be keen to offer Beadling some kind of new deal considering the fact that the vast majority of our squad will be decimated in the summer, but will Beadling want to remain at a club that have done little to help advance his development? It has been noted on this site before that the club’s attempts at developing young talent have been lacking to say the least in recent years, and having never been afforded the chance to prove his worth in a side desperately struggling at the foot of the Championship table, Beadling would be well within his rights in looking for guaranteed senior football elsewhere. please log in to view this image Will he stay or will he go? Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images With League One football looking ever more likely for Sunderland next season, keeping young prospects like Tom Beadling on the club’s books should be something we look to prioritize. Beadling might not be a star in the making, but he has proved himself adept in a physically imposing league, and would certainly be a solid player for a club in desperate need of defensive reinforcements come the close of the current campaign. That being said, it’s understandable as to why Beadling might look elsewhere in search of regular first-team football. Have any of the defensive acquisitions made by the club this season been better than he? Probably not, if truth be told. In turn, why should Beadling come back to a club that have done little in the way of offering him a route into first-team football? Hopefully, young Tom returns to the club an improved player capable of helping us in the next campaign - we will likely need him ahead of another tricky season come next year.
Yet another master stroke by our bumbling back room staff. He couldn't have been any worse than what we've had at central defence this campaign. When will this club ever learn?.
Dont forget we bought in Browning and forgotten man Marc Wilson in at Centre back aswell in place of Beadling. Were a fecking shambles.
We must have another Left back in the U23s aswell thats better than Galloway. Once again weve had another pre season of panic signings thats come back at bitten us on the ar$e. We never learn our lesson and i expect next seasons rebuilding for League 1 will be exactly the same.
Like I say somebody over there has there own agenda which is to drag SAFC to its knees before it gets better. It is absolutely impossible to be this much of a shambles.
On the plus side it's good that an outgoing loan is doing well. He's still our player and we may need him.
Yep and weve allowed his contract to run out after this season. Would you hang around if you were him? I know i certainly wouldnt if i was in his shoes. Hes been one of our best prospects for years now and he hasnt had a sniff of the first team. Instead we replace him with other teams shyte. Id be pretty miffed if i was him.
Dunno how good he is really. Other players have been plucked from the under 23s and gone straight into the senior team so maybe he wasn't ready for it but could be a regular in the next league down.
He cant have been any less ready than Browning, Galloway and Clarke-Salter. He looks physically strong enough if the pics on here are anything to go by. He'll probably end up like John Egan who we also released a few years ago. Hes captain of Brentford now and hes attracting alot of interest from the Premiership. Somebody was linked with a 5m bid for him in Jan.
Beadling should have been given a chance in the first team not loaned out when he was needed here. We have full backs in Josh Robson and Denver Hume who are worth a shot, but will be overlooked in favour of loanees, who have really hit the ground running, shambles.
It's possible that he's not as good as CS and Browning, two prospects from good premier league sides. I know that doesn't mean much necessarily but there's no guarantee that Beadling would have done any better with the pressure heaped on our defence every game and utter ****e in nets behind him. We'll have to see what the club does. Past history suggests that they'll **** it up, but Coleman's sensible and might see an opportunity to hold onto a player that will serve him well and not eat into his budget.
Unfortunately I do not think that he is getting any say in anything whatsoever at the moment. Ellis will get rid of another player who cannot be worse than the tossers currently plying their trade at SAFC.
I think if it doesn't cost the club much he has a say, I believe there are players out of contract which won't be renewed so if Coleman wants to keep Beadling he probably could. If there's a decent offer for Beadling we would sell him though no doubt.
Oh ! This wasn't Coleman's idea either , Back room staff, what are you on ? You lot want to wake up, the Chelsea lad is atrocious, Colemans lad.
Denver Hume. He's quite slight but I've been impressed when I've seen him. Next season could be the making of him
I'd be recalling Beadling and playing him in the last 8 games to see how he copes. I refuse to believe he could be any worse than Oshea
But O'Shea has a calming influence.... Errr.... O'shea's experience matters as it has so far this season.... Oh... Errr.... Have to admit that I think O'Shea is one of the ones that actually gives a damn - he's just not fast enough (seemingly in body or mind) "anymore" Me saying he cares about this club and the direction it's going in is not me saying I think he's a good player by the way
