By Christ, the England game is dull. If you listen to Hoddle, though, you'd think we were world-beaters.
Really can't be arsed watching the England game....watching bath against Exeter in the rugby. Mrs TR also hacked off because all usual programmes are taken off for football as she says why can't they put the football on ITV4 where they only have repeats anyway....
Easy to see why the Dutch didn't qualify, they're absolute shyte, a shadow of the great teams of the past...
Just watched Wayne Bridge fight some 'reality' bloke for Sport Relief. Bridge looked pretty good. They should match him with John Terry next.
I thought that England played well tonight. That's five clean sheets in a row including Spain and Brazil ( not conceding for 537 mins ) and John Stones is the only defender to start in all five. All good sides build from the back. Should've also had a penalty when Rashford was brought down in the box. Pickford looked surprisingly good in goal so hopefully that's the worrying goalkeeping problem solved.
I thought it was encouraging and we should all be encouraged by how encouraging the performance was. I'm encouraged. Seriously though, England looked OK, but Holland are awful. Pickford definitely number one for me.
I liked the fact that they seemed to able to hold on to the ball, can't remember when an England team did that
Having missed the game last night, just wondering based on what you saw what are your serious expectations for the summer? Last 16, quarter-finals - or do you think they have the ability to go any further? Or will they bottle it again on the big stage?
I was in a busy pub and like many others, didn't know the game was on. As I walked in I could see a game on the TV but thought it might be lower division. During the evening someone quietly said 'so who scored for England'? Another like me said "I didn't even know we were playing'. It's sad because in the past everyone would have watched the game. We then got back to talking rubbish about Ken Dodd.
