Given it's the international break, I thought I'd post this - we've had some half decent strikers down our way (and some not so), but which do you think was best? I've only gone back a decade or so, as there's a limit on the number of options, so sorry to legends such as John Atyeo, Paul Cheesley and Enoch Showunmi.

I've given you two selections in case you're too torn. :)

I'm not sure I'd class any of them a 'natural' striker. Well, not like Super Bob or even Mark Robins.
I know he wasn't with us very long but outside the box Robins couldn't pass the ball 5 yards yet inside the box he was deadly.

I quite liked Matt Smith but he’s not an option.

Tammy and Kodj for me, but that's not to say I'd pick those 2 if I had to choose only 2.

Purely for work rate and team play Bobby would be right up there for me.

Tammy because he kept us in the championship and probably to everyone's disgust (Maynard gate) and I know he suffered with injuries but a great natural striker that maybe wasn't supported as he should have been in our team at the time..Nicky Maynard.

Tammy and Kodjia for me. My hero was Super Bob Taylor, but most natural I’ve seen is Andy Cole. Only with his feet though I’m sure he scored a header for Man Utd after going up for it playing for us.

Those strikers were at different stages of our evolution and in some cases different levels.
Tammy is the current favourite as he is actually playing in the Premiership - although the same could be said of Baldock who I assume is still at Brighton (?). It’s difficult for me to compare them with each other.

Ive mentioned Smith, but Shaun Goater was also great for us.

I loved JET - mainly for his chilled out appearance and remember some outrageous penalties:)
You could also mention the Showman - who needed to be upset to awaken and put in a shift!!

Jevons - who got us promoted under GJ and was binned off as a reward (not criticising - it was the right thing to do - but harsh nonetheless)

Darren Byfield - non league now I think but his fantastic tally of 14 goals (!!!) got us to within 90 minutes of the promised land - the closest we’ve been since the 1980s

When he was up for it, was a very good player, when he wasn't, total waste of football pitch!!

It's got to be Tammy, for a young lad to come into the Championship and score as many as he did was fantastic, just a shame we couldn't keep him for another season.

    Tammy and Lita for me.

Danny Wilson's biggest mistake was not having Lita on the field or bench vs Brighton in the play-off final in Cardiff.

Yep Lita would have made a massive difference :emoticon-0148-yes:

Makes you wonder how long most of the fans on here have been watching City.
Lita was lethal in the box and outside it.

I voted Tammy, my second vote would have gone to Andy Cole if he had been featured.

Lita should have played against Brighton, one of the most miserable nights of my life, Sunday bloody Sunday, I hated that journey home.

I could only add 10 options, so decided to only go back 20 years or so - happy for someone to do an all-time list!

Seems like we're agreed that Tammy was top of the pile, but interesting how spread out the 2nd votes have gone - I ended up going Kodjia, but I think everyone on the list did well for us. Stead was a great professional & Baldock perhaps a little underrated - Lita a great natural talent who could've played for England with a better attitude & luck with injuries.

I didn't even realise it's been over 20 years since Andy Cole, Christ time flies.

I voted Tammy , I think he's the best goal scorer we've had recently , second I voted Bobby for his all round play and the amount of ground he covers, as well as not a bad return In terms of goals.

Best striker I've seen playing for us is a toss up between Paul Cheesley and Andy Cole , different types of striker , both on their day unplayable. I also think Tom Ritchie was underrated , although not sure he'd be classed as a striker.
