Fat Joe #backpedals on promise tax payers won't fund Everton's stadium with plans for a massive one-off tax Moshiri's real plans of using the stadium to get permission for new waterfront accommodation #exposed
Best would be to let Peel hold up development and do nothing for another 20 years. Or get the stadium built with taxpayer money and let sam spend the spare cash on pies.
Everton still can't find any money for the stadium and the capacity has been scaled back http://lbndaily.co.uk/evertons-bid-raise-stadium-funding-will-not-easy-ceo-elstone-admits/
I just want to make one quick point. please log in to view this image Look at image used in article To avoid upsetting the bluenoses reading they used an old image please log in to view this image theres just a minor difference. I hear evertson fans all avert their eyes and refuse to look across the park these days.
Just a bit of feedback from last week's business breakfast meeting. Elstone confirmed they are still looking for investors; design will take into consideration views from fan feedback sessions{?}; costs have risen; no capacity decided yet; building to start Summer 2019 expected to be ready for 22/23 season; planning is underway; Joe said it's on a WH site and will reflect the site it's on but Liverpool isn't a monument and while plans for the stadium will be sensitive to the heritage of the site, advancing the city is more important than WH status; Joe said the Council were happy to go from guarantor to provider of finance as it will bring revenue to the city also stressed he sees the deal as being with EFC the institution, not with Moshiri. Is Tobes still *tapping his nose*
Why would the deal be with a Moshiri? He isn’t ‘Everton’ Best foway the club to carry the debt, it worked for Arsenal, United, Liverpool. No need to fund it.
He isn’t. He is funding the club. In reality Moshiri would then have to only stump up half the cost/take half the debt on......well 49%. I guess the question is, how much do LCC want to move forward with the regeneration.
TBH everton take on the full debt. lets be frank. the council lend half and make a profit. no issue there if its a good use of credit line for council and not anti competition. Then everton take on another sum at higher interest rate on the market. Its all everton's business. I would like the council to extend LFC the same deal for anfield road to reduce cost for us.
You should have gone to the meeting, you could have jumped up and shouted that response on Joe's behalf
If they do take on the full debt it would require further investigation and delay the development starting. It may then point towards a phased regeneration of GP that pays for itself. Who knows why FSG never approached the council on a similar deal? Would FSG be willing to pay possibly a higher fee/interest rate to LCC than LFC did feel r the main stand?
So the council are lending the club and not Moshiri the money but Moshiri and not the club will find the missing 49%? Would've thought the remainder of the money needed would be borrowed by EFC not Moshiri personally?
No, Moshiri only owns 49% of shares. So he would be needing to finance/cough up just 49% of what’s needed either as a whole or what the difference will be between council and private finance. If this is against the club or per share owned.....who knows. But that’s as much as my tiny mind can comprehend.
