He is the type of player who says things to please his audience. We all know he's shagging half of the players' wives anyway. He doesn't care bout Wales.

Agreed ... but Spurly needed what he felt was a credible alternative to Kante ... a big fail ... only ones close really were Makalele and, to a lesser, extent Viera ... and Spurly wasn't likely to be giving either of those the big one ... given who they played for ..<laugh>

Agreed ... but the majority of Chelsea fans I know, think Kante is even better because of his speed and ability to get forward ... but I'll leave it to the Chelsea fans on here to comment <ok>

Fosse, I've never actually said it was fluky. Fluky is one off games, or at a stretch a cup where you play about 6 games. You can't be lucky over a 38 game period.

Yes, it was a season where none of the big teams were ever in their stride but it was still a monumental achievement for some other team to win the league despite of that. As much as you've got me down as bitter, the only thing I'm guilty of is thinking you would be relegated that season under Ranieri. That went for most folk though which was understandable going off your previous season.

Saffy - no you didn't buddy - and I wasn't levelling that at you - just illustrating how some might denigrate Super Kev's achievement - "defences must have been out of sorts that season then - because he could never get anywhere close again" ... where I would disagree with you is about none of the big teams being in their stride ... at different times Arsenal, Spurs City and United could all have gone on to win it ... we were just relentless and never broke despite the pressure - only lost 3 games all season - 2 against Arsenal and one at Liverpool ... that was phenomenal.

I've never seen a Premier League team rinse the Premier League like Man City have this season.

If they get past Liverpool I think they're well in with a chance of the Champions League. Tricky tie though considering away goals over two legs.

I don't think "The Invincibles" were anywhere near as good as the likes of 2008 United, 2018 Man City, 1999 United, 2010 Chelsea or 2005 Chelsea.

Barca were at their peak in 2011 when they wiped the floor with United.

Was that the game at Wembley? I actually felt sorry for United in that game, it was the most dominant display in a cup final I've ever seen.

Barca were at their very best under Pep.

    Sorry if that offended you.

I am hugely critical of all the arse kissing that goes on about Pep as I do not think spending nearly half a billion pounds in 18 months is a small part of their success.
They already had Stones, Aguero, D Silva, Kompany, Stirling and De Bruyne at the club too.

You do not need to be a genius coach to be 18 points clear of the rest with those resources.

However the style of football they play is great to watch and they are easily on a par with the 1999 United team, The 2004 Arsenal team and the Chelsea 2010 team in my opinion.

Name a couple of managers that would achieve it?

Yes he had Stones, Stirling, De Bruyne etc. His coaching has brought them all on though, there's no denying that. What people overlook sometimes is that spending money is an art too.

Everyone ignores the ****e he bought to boost his defence which failed miserably last season. He spent £170m last season whilst having Stirling, De Bruyne, Aguero, Kompany and stones already there yet did not even challenge for the title or win a cup.
Brendan Rodgers was ridiculed In the media and sacked after losing his only world class player and spending £120m yet Pep was given a free pass for doing exactly the same with massively better resources.
Given that amount of money and the players already there I think Klopp, Wenger and Pochettino would produce exciting teams.

My issue is that any criticise of him is met like you are saying he is ****.

There was no criticism that they went out of the FA Cup to a league one side...can you imagine what would have been said about Conte, Wenger, Jose, Klopp or Pochettino in the same circumstances?

He is obviously a good coach and better than most but the nearly HALF A BILLION spent in 18 months undermines it all being about his coaching.

    Fergie would achieve it.

    Fergie did achieve it.

    With Bosnich in goal <laugh>

Pep had a wobble when he had to deal with a **** goalkeeper.

You could say his coaching brought them on or you could say adding two £50 million+ players in every position to the squad improved the team as a whole.

You'd think the bloke invented football the way the media ****s itself into a ridiculous frenzy about him. He didn't.
