excellent question We drew with Burnley in prem 1-1 (from 0-1 down) We beat leicester 3-2 in prem We lost 0-2 to leicester in league cup. TBF who knows if he's have started v leicester in league cup. impossible to know we played coutinho, solanke and ox. so make of that what you will BTW when he was out injured CL games missed: Maribor scored 10 conceded 0, 6 points (not hard) League missed: Utd, 0-0 Spurs 1-4 loss Huddersfield 3-0 win so again make of that what you will
Paris Saint-Germain have slapped a €50M (£43M) price tag on the 24-year old German international Julian Draxler, an amount that Liverpool could afford easily. [@BILD]
The sooner he leaves the better, that interview is an embarrassment to LFC, he wants to "play for a big club next season"?, whether it was lost in his grasp of English or whether he doesn't see us as a big club it's obvious he wants to leave. Cheerio Emre.
The Echo really sensationalised the interview and emphasised a few quotes. It’s obvious that Emre meant that LFC are also a big club that he could be at next season. Emre wasn’t gonna say he wants to play in League 2. We saw the same smear campaigns as we did with the likes of Torres, Sterling and Coutinho. Out of everyone, Emre has been the most professional throughout his contract saga.
echo never asked him to say what he said. my opinion is he just wants to sit back and let club size do his work for him and be handed medals. he only turns up for big games. we all k ow this. irrespective of views and articles ivr not changed my opinion. hes wanted this move for 2 years and should have been sold last summer and replaced. he will do a job for us but only in big games like cl qf. we need to replace him and henderson in the summer. oh and his ego is bigger than his talent cis i can see him warming a bench pretty soon cos when he pulls his not bothered crap at "a really big club" he wont get another game for a while.
It would not surprise me if he ended up signing a new contract. Either way I am not that bothered as he is not essential to the team and can be replaced. Will he get a game ahead of a fit Keita
TBH i don't understand why he's not signed for juve yet. they are top of the league despite napoli's good form. So if he wants a really big club who's bigger than juve (assured to win ****) Does he think real or barca will come? Or is he a big enough **** that he's agreed with city already and is so afraid of the backlash its been kept quiet til the season is over. For me he's nowhere near the level any of those 3 need. He's got a lot of good things about him but he is inconsistent and his work rate is suspect when the big camera's are off him.
Players come and go. He's been loyal to his contract but it runs out in the summer. If he goes, he goes. He's not good enough imo anyway
He’s obviously keeping Juve on the back burner hoping a more lucrative offer comes in during the summer. City? Hahahahaha ok mate
Thats what i would say to him TBF but it has been rumoured. The information is italy allows tax dodging of the highest order the Spanish doesn't any more so i can't see him getting a bigger pay day in real or barca sdo for me city or psg are the only other options and that = pure money and bench time. How many players have psg sat on benches right now? The reality is he's not really in that elite level of players but he thinks he is.
A lot of people thought sterling would be warming the bench at City. No doubt people thought the same about coutinho and Barcelona a few years ago. Sometimes we need to appreciate that young players are still developing but are still no doubt talented and that we should try to keep them. Losing Can on a free means we miss out on £30m fee plus the cost to replace him.
And you’re right - The Echo didn’t ask him to say anything. But it’s convenient they focus on that one quote and not how he enjoys being at Liverpool and how it feels like a family.
Can is just whoring himself out. He's quite clearly in it for the money and doesn't hide it. As long as he performs for us in the next two months, I don't care. It's better than certain other players who developed a disabling back injury and the team at the start of the season.
Liverpool are lining up Italy international Jorginho as replacement for Emre Can. Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are also looking, but the Anfield Reds are confident they are in the frame for the £50million-rated Napoli midfielder.
I will certainly agree having seen silva and sane and Bernardo silva go in there that Sterling looked a dead duck. Frankly however Coutinho is a terrible example He was a first teamer before klopp game, he was still a first teamer and would still be a first teamer. this seems to be a purely thrown in name to make some point but fials to do so. Look Can being kept by us and being good enough to go to "a big club" is two entirely different conversations. the lad is 24 now and has played 200 odd games professionally so he's well developed by now. My view is i think he believes he can get away with lowering work rate to mind himself in games and does this when tv camera are not there or team is perceived as easy game. Thats in his head and frankl if klopp can't get it out of him only a "big club" dropping him and not playing him for 3 months will. If attitude is developmental fine but he's well past the developmental stage and as i said, I can't see real or barca wanting Can. Juve seem a big enough club for anyone with assured medals if thats what he wants. PSG, city not good moves.. Bayern won't pay enough. I REALLY don't get why he's stalling on signing with juve unless he secretly has a city deal in his pocket. City held guardiola deal for as long as they could til bayern leaked it. they are more than capable of holding this. I don't think he's right for that city side. I think gundogan and fernandinho are better.
From what I've read I would have to agree that the article twists his words to create the sensation it seeks. However, I'm not as keen on him as you are, I think he lacks either application, concentration, or both. He doesn't put out the consistent level of performance that is required at any "big club". Or even ours. As mentioned above, he's not so young any more, and that can't be used as an excuse. If he wants to stay, then I think he's good enough for us to keep him, but he'd have to accept that he's in an area where he's going to be subject to rotation and I don't think his ego will allow that. Stay or go, he should make up his mind because all of this speculation can be disruptive.
agreed. I've no issue with how he's played in general this year, its not better or worse than prior year. I agree he's at least good enough for our club given where we are at so if he wants to go fine cos theres better out there having said that. LFC need a solid no 6 not a roaming no 8 who runs with the ball. if anyhitng i'd keep over henderson as i think henderson's ****ed perosnally. but if he goes it pushes klopp to replace and hopefully do better for us and push henderson down the pecking order If he's signed jan 1 for juve i doubt anyone would have held it agaisnt him or would even be bothered right now and he's still be playing here. He's one bad tackle away from a world of hurt. Maybe i'm naive and he will get a massive contract anyway. I would have had it sorted in jan or before
I'll be honest MITO - your reaction is exactly what the Echo was after. Rather than checking out if there was any sensationalism (happens when translating all the time) in the story, you've gone full circle and ripped Emre. He has a contract which he is fulfilling. His performances are inconsistent but that is the same as has been for him since he joined. Is it fair to suddenly say this season it's all down to him wanting to leave? Perhaps he is seeking a big move, but jumping to that conclusion, lambasting him without knowing the facts would make you look incredibly foolish if he decided to stay. Juve are offering money, titles and all the benefits of Italy over England (e.g. weather). I'd prefer him to stay, he has room for improvement etc. but I wouldn't start the s*** smear campaign over this. At this point, he holds the cards and can delay as much as he so wishes. Clubs use tactics like this all the time and we back them for 'business sense' but when a player uses them - he's greedy/disloyal/egotistical. They're grown men with decisions to make about a five-year contract in a career that lasts around 15 years. Players are entitled to care about money - they're human.
