Why oh why didn’t we accept £7m for him when Sven offered? He could have won the Prem with Leicester!!
Because Maynard himself did not want to speak to Leicester, plus he wanted Prem football. In hindsight he was stupid as what become of Leicester no one would of predicted. But the player himself has been hampered with injuries. I think when he was at Cardiff he damaged one of his ligaments. Coupled with the one he had when he was with us maybe he suffers with not getting over them. I would of thought if he never had that injury with us he might of gone to a club he wanted at a fee we wanted. I’m not saying that I was happy with his decisions mind.
I’ve never heard of reports of him wanting more money etc, so he shouldn’t be classed as like all others. Burnley & Leicester are 7th and 8th in the league with Leicester being classed as a recent Prem winner. Bournemouth are 10th and been a Prem team now for a few years. So are you saying players should only leave us for one of the Manchester or Liverpool clubs or Arsenal, Tottenham or Chelsea?

I think young English players are finally realising that stepping straight up to play for the 'Big 4 or 5' is not the be all and end all. Many players in the England setup are now playing for other teams, as the big teams are chock full of foreign talent and you will barely get a look in. The wages are so good in the Prem now, you can afford not to go straight to the big boys and I think thats why the Prem is now so close, from 10th downwards is so tight.
