Do you remember that story of the four girls who sneaked in and stayed overnight in the ground at WHL? I think they were wanting to meet Danny Blanchflower or something! They made it into a tv play years ago. Anyone remember? I knew one of them years later - still an ardent fan - we went to matches together for a few years.

Oh man.That was so nostalgic I had some tears in my eyes.

I probably was that bad too. My first favourite was gentleman George Robb.What a player!.....and when Pat Jennings was transferred,I felt I'd lost a brother.
They did have nice homes,those girls. My family lived in one room above a shoe shop with other family members in other parts of the house...memories!

Ooooooh baby. Someone on Spurs Community is suggesting that it's now at full height. I think it's got a wee bit further to go but finished tomorrow?

The club have released these 2 images of areas for premium seat holders. If I was one of them, I'd be writing to the club asking why they look so bloody awful. £6k per ticket and it looks like a nasty Northern wine bar.

The lack of people would bother me :bandit:

Am I detecting that slowly, things are turning into the "not quite what I expected" phase?

What concerns me about the top picture is the berk who deemed it acceptable to go to any football match showing elbow pads on his jumper.

I'll probably never go in that part of the stadium @ £6k per season, so don't really give a **** but it looks tacky to me. I accept that football stadiums have premium areas and have been in corporate hospitality at Wembley, WHL, Arsenal, Palace and Millwall. It was a perk of my job but I wouldn't pay for it as I enjoy something a bit more raucous but each to their own.

Some are upset at pricing but very few people are unhappy with the stadium itself. With the incredible South Stand, it offers an area for fans who won't need song sheets. It is the best devised stadium in the UK, by a street, and will be a great place to watch football, despite some of the decor.

That's Piskie wandering round. The elbow pads are for when he holds his head in his hands, (elbows on hard surface) realising what the Emirates should have looked like

Only pulling it mate, I have been in the two most affluent areas of OT, once as a guest at a sportsmans dinner in one of the posher restaurants (no football involved) and once at a pre-season friendly as a birthday gift from my kids. Very nice but as you say, not for me <ok>

Just coincidental timing regarding the discovery that United's stadium has the same lack of atmosphere as the moon?

All modern football stadia are morgues compared to the cauldrons of the 70's. I used to be on The Shelf half an hour before kick off, screaming my lungs out for 'us' and against 'them'. By the time the teams walked out it was really good and hostile [mostly in a good way].

Nowadays, the places are empty right up until kick off and most sound like it throughout. I miss standing and the fever pitch of it all. Spurs is still loud but it's not the old days.
