    Exactly.

Your owner would hang himself if he had to sell one of the best centre halves in the world for £25m.

Poch isn't playing him, you guys know he's done there. There's no point trying to pretend otherwise. He'll be a United player by August 9th.

You couldn't hate United more, is it because we are a big club who ain't scared of winning trophies? Or is it because we earn our own money and don't need a sugar daddy and you want your club to be the best at doing that?

Either way pal, you need to learn to accept order in this world. You vegan types can't change anything by simply stamping your feet and throwing your toys around.

I'd much rather we rejected any bid and activated the buyout clause for the following summer to be honest. By next summer he'll be 30, still a good age for a CB but not young enough for a club wanting to spend mega dough on, £25m even in the inflated market would be pretty high for someone of that age and he won't get say a 3-4 year contract on £150k+ a week by then, in that time maybe we could convince him to commit his future.

As has been pointed out, we've done well in his absence thanks to Dave Sanchez's arrival and the likes of Foyth and Carter-Vickers both seem destined for big futures but it doesn't take away the fact that Toby is better than any CB in the division and therefore losing him would be hard to take and definitely weaken us.

If he does go, I'd rather it be to PSG, they've been linked with him along with Utd, Barca and Real. We've struck up what seems to be a 'friendship' with them, they bought Stambouli off us a couple seasons back and we've taken Aurier and Moura this season while we've also been linked with summer moves for Kurzawa and Pastore, so if Toby was dead set on leaving I'd rather we looked at trying to do a deal that got us one or both of those in return.

He's never quite recovered from his injury. Poch will play him when he's fit.

He is fit though, he’ll move on this summer as you won’t match the wages that he’ll be able to command elsewhere, and Levy won’t sit back and watch his value slide.

Probably right. I would question whether he's fit - he definitely had a setback after starting a cup game, but I think you're right on the rest.

    Mate I'm a vegan and a half. You're at least 2.5 Vegans, and that's being kind :)

It's the only way to be imo...or you end up in your position of having loads of players entering the last year of their contracts.
You could lose Whilshere on a free, only got £50m for Chamberlain and Walcott and had to swap Sanchez for Mikhatarian.
If you'd sold Sanchez last summer you'd have got close on £90m, plus around £100m plus for the other 3 ... That was a lot to lose by not selling which is something we can not afford imo.
£170,000 per week is apparently what he wants, we have offered £120,000 plus bonuses...if he doesn't want to sign we should sell and move on

Not saying that Arsenal are a model to follow when it comes to contracts, quite the opposite. But we got £60m+ for Ox and Walcott and hopefully Wilshere will sign another contract. As for Sanchez, in hindsight we should have sold him earlier, but as it turns out we got Mkhitaryan from Utd and it looks like Sanchez is either past his best or will be moving from Utd in the near future. He's a shadow of the player that he was at Arsenal.

Really? Is that through sentimental reasons of him being one of your own or footballing ones?

Painfully overrated in my opinion, let alone the injury prone problems.

Nah, he's a good player but has been hampered by injuries. Since he's come back recently though he's been in really good form and has been driving our midfield.

I know he's been a bit of a cock, but he seems to have matured since he's come back. I think he's finally realised that it's a now or never moment for him to make it.

Think it's difficult to put a monetary value on the likely transfer fee in this current mad market .. Toby is at the peak of his career and that will likely last another 3 or 4 years for a central defender ... the VVD transfer has set a precedent (albeit a vastly inflated one) for defenders ..I'd expect a transfer this summer to b £60 m plus and possibly as much as £70 m ...
