Knabby - what's your view on the postponement? Seems like it was Derby's decision, not the local police. Injury list anything to do with this? A few years ago we had a cup game at Bolton. Called off about 3 hours before kick off due to a waterlogged pitch. Apparently Big Fat Sam had left the sprinklers on all night. He had a few out injured too.
Lets face it they have bottled it. Disgraceful excuse of a football club. They should get a points deduction.
Its a disgrace Sparkey. Not just unfair to us but those going for the play offs. Hope they miss out altogether. Bottlers. Deduct them 3 points.
............and award them to us as a forfeit - why not? Agree about everything you say - an absolute disgrace to the game, the fans, and football in general. A cynical manipulation of the truth about the conditions to avoid playing a game they didn't want to.
I can see the thinking but not sure about deducting 3 points, club will do whatever they can to get a advantage, ours included. The ones who miss out is the paying fans.
Vince Alm 43 mins ยท Derby gate it gets better! Just spoke to Ken Choo and he is fuming. He said the club are appealing to the EFL regards the calling off of this fixture and has sp...oken to the Football league, and directors at Derby FC. One of the Directors Ken spoke to told him that the reason the Safety Advisory Group called the game off, was not because of safety concerns in the stadium or on the pitch, not because of safety concerns to supporters in and around Pride Park, not because of issues of Cardiff City supporters travelling from South Wales (who were enduring the Blizzard conditions, and heavy snowfall similar to what Derby had the evening before) But... Some of their supporters could not get off their drives to attend the game meaning they would not get a capacity crowd!!! Where is the safety issue there? if you can't get off your drive you can't get off your drive? Supporters live all around the UK for most clubs if that was the case there would be fixtures cancelled every week during winter! You think of the snow that the valleys have through winter for our supporters we'd never have a game played based on that decision. To top it off Derby want the rearranged fixture 17th April knowing we will have 3 away trips on the trot! You couldn't make it up what has been said today!!!
Have we got any supporters up in the highlands? We could get a few games cancelled if they couldn' get to the game. Or let's speak to taffthefish. Next time there's a typhoon or tropical storm, let's cancel a game cos taff can' make it. Heard it all now. We've seen how vindictive tan can be with MM. Another **** storm brewing!!!!!
If i remember correctly about 10 or 12 years ago an identical scenario came up with a Blackburn V Boro match, injuries weather etc etc. I am also certain one got deducted 3 points and the other awarded 3 points and the match never ever went ahead. I have been known to get confused at times. Anyone else remember the said incident ?
