Indeed. In the main I don’t really trust the majority either, but in this instance I deployed a device that helped considerably in the task of making my own decision. My eyes.
I do wish I had the optimism that some are expressing on here...............according to statistics we are currently getting .9333r points per game meaning we should end up with 35.46 (35 points) if Sparky can increase our points per game to 1 a game it might just give us a chance...........For safety it surely will need about 1.25 points per game minimum(10 points) from the last eight games. From .93r to 1.25 per game in eight games is asking one hell of a lot from any manager in such a short time under the circumstances . If he does it and I certainly hope he does, he will ave earned his bonus and his right to a longer contract. What ever, god willing I will still be there shouting for my glorious saints next season........COYS!!!!!! "lets be 'avin ya"
Remember that sticker that used to be on the back of VW Beetles that read something like "15 million people can't be wrong". Law abiding I might be, but I always wanted to scratch "Yes they ****ing can" on the car.
Bloody hell, Beddy. Go and lie down, mate. You know your rep with statistics. If you are saying "If we don't improve we're ****ed" you're right
If Sparky increased our points per game to 1.0...we'd have 38 points (38 x 1). If he got us 10 points from the next 8 games....we'd have 38 points (28 + 10). Oh, Beddy. Just twigged that you might mean 1 for the last 8 games which would be 28 + 8 = 36, but much more fun to believe the worse.
I was assuming that he meant our average over the season to 1 per game, but just realised what he may have meant....but there is much more fun in picking on Beddy.
Poor Beddy, his maths actually made perfect sense for once until you horrible lot started picking it to pieces!
I think that was only me On the other hand, he hasn't given us reason to trust him, has he? Fully vindicated
What you've got to remember is that every team that are on a similiar number of points to us are on a similar points per game over the season so they have to do the exactly the same thing. a couple of teams usually do pick up though, so we got to make sure we're one of them.
I would agree if it was a simple case of "this team is rubbish and we're relying on a manager bounce". The potential of this team is about 100 times what it's shown this season because of pitiful management. If Hughes can get us to a point where we're playing at even 75% of our potential, that points haul should be within our grasp. That's my belief anyhow.
