Well here we go with another wasted weekend football wise. I used to detest these breaks when we were in the Premiership and viewed them as an unwelcome break in the normal weekend routine, looking forward to the match etc. Now I think that I'm glad not to be facing a potential defeat as this sorry season grinds to a pityfull end. I haven't had any real interest in our national team for years now, probably since England's handling of SKP when he was in his prime with us, and I just think that we have a dull manager and a dull team to watch, and friendly games don't do it for me anyway. So this weekend I will be concentrating on my grandkid's games, which have recently suffered in the poor weather conditions, so it'll be nice to see wholly committed youngsters giving their all. What are you lot doing on this football free weekend?
I'm planning to watch 'Sheels v Ramsbottom United on saturday, where there'll be a decent chance of my team actually winning (unless it's called off because of international call-ups). This is subject to my finishing what I need to do up to kick-off time (3 o'clock) at my youngest daughter's new house, to make it habitable so that we (me and Mrs.A) can 'get rid of them' a.s.a.p. Either way, it'll be a nice distraction from having to go and endure a couple of hours of pain at The Stadium like I had to last saturday . . . . and the obvious pressure of the prediction league, of course On saturday night I plan to be at Alum House (next to 'Sheels ferry landing) by 6 o'clock, with Mrs. A., for a few On sunday I will be playing football as usual in the morning, if I'm not still assembling wardrobes or beds or doing something else in relation to the aforementioned, which would still be better than going to the match I never thought that I'd appreciate international breaks so much . . . . although I don't give a toss about England, and I've got nee idea who they're playing To summarise, Cumbrian, I'll be enjoying myself much more than usual
and after a f a cup weekend when most teams did not play, the weather will be summer on Saturday then next week back to the beast I bet !
Hate to say it mate but every weekend is football free for me I have no interest at all really havn't watched a game on the telly for ages, none this season i will wait until I see some improvement and then get back into it. This weekend will be getting the caravan ready for sale and going for a wander up the fells and a pub meal.
I'm looking forward to a well deserved holiday. I've got 2 more days at work after being given notice that my contract is being terminated early despite committing to the client for another 6 months. You see in the real world **** happens and you just have to deal with it. Anyway - On Saturday I'll be watching my lad play for his local footy team, then after a 14 hour flight to Chile I will be going to see Santiago Wanderers v Union San Felipe on Sunday afternoon.
