A lot of people seem to think it’s Man City, Not for me, The treble-winning team, The Invincibles and the Chelsea team that won the premier league for the first time in the 2004/05 season.
It'll depend on how this season pans out for them, if they win the CL then they will be right up there. Hopefully we'll spoil that party.
At times they are brilliant, you're just not admitting it because you're a Utd fan. Bit like you not wanting to say Salah is any good.
The way that City have utterly dominated the Prem this season makes them the best ever side, imho. Mourhino must be cursing his luck that he chose the wrong club to manage.
Have you seen them play? They are, at times, completely unplayable. Can't get the ball off them, and when they do lose it their interception is so good they get it back straight away without breaking sweat. Every member of that squad is an intelligent player, and consequently they are always one step ahead of their opponents. Reckon Liverpool might give em a scare in the CL. The scousers have the pedigree in Europe, which does seem to count for something, though it shouldn't really.
City the best? Absolutely not, the fact that they've dominated just shows how bad the opposition is. This league has been a shambles the last few years, the CL showing justifies that. If City had better opposition they'd have been under more pressure and dropped more points. A good side for sure but nowhere near the hype. The PL table in 2008 shows how a table looks when there's genuine competition. United have won the league in seasons with gaps just as big as Man City's gap, 2000 for example. The chasers were just nowhere near and the season is incredibly boring to see it unfold.
City is the thinking-man’s choice. Only those severely lacking in a knowledge of football can fail to see that they are the best side ever to have graced the Prem.
So that Arsenal side with Henry, Bergkamp and Vierra can't be considered because they never won the CL? Disagree. Oh, hold on, I get it now - this is a Scouse thing. Everything's waited in favour of the CL, because Liverpooool have never won the PL. Righto.
Well I hadn't thought of it like that, the Arsenal side went a season unbeaten so that in itself is a superb acheivment the other truly great sides have always won doubles is what I'm getting at. I hadn't thought of it from a Liverpool perspective as we haven't won the league in the PL era but all our great sides have won more than just the league. Your rant is way off I wasn't thinking like that at all.
I think I had you bang to rights actually. Saw right through you, before you saw it yourself Arsenal won two doubles before Wenger went mad, btw.
Nope. And to prove my non bias although I hate to say it, the best PL era team ever was probably Utd 93/94 League and FA Cup double and losing the league Cup final. Keane and Ince in the middle Giggs and Kanchelskis on the wings Cantona with a shed load of goals, Bruce, Pallister with Peter in goal. They'd have sorted that Gooner team out.
A few teams come to mind: - Arsenal invincible's team. - Chelsea team under Jose around 2004 - Man United team with Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, Rio and van der Sarr were very good. Seeing the latter vs the current City team would be a proper game of football!
United's 2008 team that won the big double would obliterate this City team. They stopped Barca at their very best under Pep so let's not pretend City are even in with a shout.
This post is 100% correct. Stymied in Europe by the four foreigner rule when Giggs was considered to be foreign. As were Irwin and Keane etc.
