I love di Canio and I think he never should have been sacked but what do you expect him to do? Get the magic pixies to help us win the league? He's still going to be stuck with no money to spend and the dregs of whatever is left of the awful squad we have now. The manager isn't the problem. The lack of funds and the crap players he has to choose from are.

I think Paulo's squad was a tad better than this when he was hounded out.

Don't believe PDC ****ed up at all, Short, the players and the fans ****ed up by not letting him get rid of the same players who have took us exactly where he thought they would take us so its a bit of justice in my eyes , shame like.

None one here really knows what went on in the changing rooms mate.

Chances are the old school may well have forced him out. But we don't know that for sure.

But that's all irrelevant now. It's ancient ****ing history.

He's gone. I don't get all this **** about getting past managers back.

What's next, dig Bob Stokoe up and pray around his ashes for divine intervention?

We have to deal with the hand we have now and move on.

Aye I agree mate just gets on my tits when all this could of been avoided ( maybe ) years ago and we could have moved on now without this pile of **** still dragging us down.<ok>

That's just it mate. There's many looking back on the last 10 years or so with rose tinted glasses. So are you to some extent with PDC if you think that he would've come through if he was given the chance.

We have no idea what could've been with every manager who was sacked.

    You can't re-write history with could've beens would've beens.

There were clearly major problems within the squad that so many managers couldn't resolve. There were also major problems in the boardroom that didn't recognise, or couldn't / wouldn't see what the **** was going on in the changing room.

This club has been so badly managed from top to bottom that the manager in situ at any one particular time was almost irrelevant to the circumstance. Its amazing we stayed up in the PL as long as we did.

Just to add, the common denominator is the owner.

Can't blame the guy for wanting to extend his investments. But he strayed into something he knew **** all about.

And every season his only reaction, apart from the odd change at director level was to sack the manager.

I don't think it ever occurred to him that he may have been the cause of the problem, because he wasn't necessarily getting the best advice that could've been available to him.

To be fair the guy, he put a lot of the money into the club , and he's gonna lose most of it probably.

Juat wishing Quinny had played golf with someone else that fateful day.

Similar to us and Ashley I think at the time you needed an investor to bail you out of a bit of a hole. It was going well for a while but the big question isn't why you eventually got relegated (10 years is a good run in the Premiership) but how the money was so mismanaged that the club is now in the state it is; if the house had been in order then you'd be having the same season this year as we had last year.

I think you need a reality check - barring a major miracle you are going down in 6-7 weeks time. L1 is a very different league to the Prem and Champ.
There will be no big names wanting to come to mighty Sunderland in L1, if Coleman goes you need to appoint someone who understands what is required to get out of that league, and as I said Cotterill has a very good record of doing that. Unless you think that Pep and Jose are sat waiting for the call !!

Your right, and I am well aware of our situation but Cotterill no thanks, I just don't like him, sorry, and just for the record, I don't like Jose either. <ok>

Coleman on Preston's first goal. “We’ve got a lot of young boys and that’s where we conceded the first goal from"

Sorry Chris but that goal was down to Kone and Oshea who have hundreds of top flight and international appearances between them.

At this moment in time I'm of the mindset that we have to back him and he's gotta be the man to give us some stability into the summer but he can **** off with **** comments like that blaming the youngsters for their first goal.

He walks a risky path with stuff like this because even though the mess isn't his fault he can quickly become complicit and he's first in the firing line

Will Coleman a clause in his contract for a reduction in wages if we get relegated?
