Every time I read a quote from anyone from anywhere, I'm just left with the question why did we leave it so late.

To be honest, I stopped asking myself that question sometime ago as I thought and to be fair hoped that MP2 would be able to pull us through. I know this goes against many opinions but there we are. I suspect the Board were hoping (for their own sake!) that he would, given time. Maybe many of us, I know I have, have sometimes, when faced with a dilemma, have thought about giving things a longer time to sort them out, and then regret not acting sooner. I can work with that, it’s a human weakness. MH has a tough challenge, he is not the Messiah, but at least it seems better now and as long as their is some passion and total commitment from the players) they owe everyone that, after some woeful displays of those characteristics) then we’re in with a good shout for survival. He will make a real difference that’s for sure!

we have left it late to get a proper manager.
But that makes it all the more exciting, right?

    But, if all the players were saying;
'We were just unlucky, didn't get the rub of the green.'
Then that's fine, but what Pierre has just said speaks volumes. They all knew what we were guessing at. So how did he make it past January?
This season will be remembered for a lot of bad decisions, but hopefully something special at the end has us looking back and laughing.

The simplest answer would be that the board didn’t want to act because they didn’t want a repeat of the negative reaction to Puel’s sacking.

There’s a case to be made that Puel was unfairly treated (I don’t necessarily agree but there’s certainly a case to be made). Nobody can really argue Pellegrino’s sacking was unjust.

    Or...............

    Now, hear me out.........

Pellergrino had photo's of a naked orgy in the board room where everyone was doing lines of coke and worshipping Satan.

Yep, that must be it. <laugh>

(anyway, all said and none, lets just try and get through this two week break with our sanity)

Whilst beating West Ham would be ideal, I don’t buy the fact that it is catastrophic if we don’t.

As long as we don’t lose, we keep them in the **** with us, and I’d take that and bag our chances against Swansea and a couple of the others.

I think not losing is a good result in itself, As they have some awful games coming up.

Quotes about new managers have a way of following a particular pattern. I would certainly say something similar if I was asked to comment. Being Luke warm or critical isn't really an option unless you're a bit bonkers.

However, if Sparky's working em hard and getting their respect that's all hunky-dory for me

More than happy to see that lot leave to be honest.

I disagree. Villa held on to Grealish, so I think JWP and Hojbjerg could stay. I don't think anyone in their right mind would pay for Austin these days. We'd want more for Romeu than anyone is willing to pay, and I think he'd happily stay. Carillo can sod off.

My worry about not getting the three against whu is, we'll play well, dominate and then lose to a fluky goal against one of the big ones. (Arse, Chelsea, Arse being the next three games)

I really want us to Annihilate West-ham! :emoticon-0130-devil

Maybe it was the bad blood in our championship title challenge! I might shed a tear if they go down... :emoticon-0136-giggl

What he says now reflects what he thinks now. Not necessarily what he or anyone was thinking a fortnight ago.

With hindsight we should have sacked MP2 in January. But the biggest let down was to keep him on, then not back him in the transfer window.

I’ve been thinking about what MH has as his biggest advantage in the current situation. He’s said it himself that coming into this situation means he can’t afford to step on toes. If anything that actually plays out well as a longer term appointment. He has the ability to impose his strategy with little comeback (its my way or the highway), and he doesn’t need to work on relationships out the gate.

If he keeps us up you would have thought the squad buy into his ways, and it sets us up very well for next season, with players understanding what the expectation level is. He’ll have had to set the bar high also to get a positive reaction.

A bit of hard love now, and staying up, could lead to happier times ahead on the field.....

Not really with hindsight. The majority of us were saying it at the time (and before then).
