Just got in from walking football and was talking to Sam the West'am fan, who wasn't pleased with us winning. He thought West'am were in the middle of a tail spin with nothing going right. Us getting a new manager and a first win will give us a lift. Couldn't see where the next goal, never mind next point was coming from. Sounds familiar? He's going on holiday to New Zealand to get as far away as possible. Bit extreme.
I have to say WHU's owners and their vice chairwoman have almost made me feel sorry for their fans. Then I remember all the crowing over getting a 'world class' stadium at taxpayers expense and, well, don't.
Listened to an interesting segment on the Freakonomics podcast. Footy teams who play at a ground with a running track between them and the pitch experience less home advantage. This article covers it, though the podcast went further; on that they said teams with tracks have effectively no home advantage. http://freakonomics.com/2011/12/18/...ous-is-home-field-advantage-and-why/?c_page=2 Be careful what you wish for, eh? Bollocks you edited in time... Ga!! I've been singing that all day, saw myself in a YouTube video singing it too
It were the names that confused I, not the size of the individual! I found the pictures again after I had posted and realised the gaff, but still don't know what they were joking about, I wouldn't have thought any Wigan player would have been pleased at the time?
Did anyone see a family holding a cardboard banner at the game yesterday? I was behind it and couldn’t read what it said.
Bit late listening to Mark Hughes post-match interview...liked how he said that he didn't quite know what Cedric was doing up there, so he can't claim it was down to his tactics. Nice honesty.
