He should be sliced, diced, and waiting for recovery now. Anyone knows when he comes out? Anyone had a drug-enduced phone call from him yet?
Hmmm... Not the best greeting card... (Obviously I don't agree with sentiment of picture... Posting for humour only)
People thought he'd been in for total body surgery with all the bandages/dressings wrapping him like a mummy, but it turned out they were just nicotine patches
I'm surprised Luv hasn't posted to let you all know I'm back at home. The whole thing went so much better than I possibly could have dreamed. On the day of the op, I was ****ting it, as was born out by my very high BP reading. So high that the surgeon was concerned the anaesthetist wouldn't allow the op to take place. He was superb. He took me down to the ward to meet a bloke who'd had the same thing two days previously. He was out of bed sitting in his chair. He was absolutely made up and said he was feeling so much better. I was asked to lie down on the bed and relax. Next a very nice lady anaesthetist came to see me. She was lovely. She suggested a rather unusual pre-med to relax me, which they don't normally do. She checked with the anaesthetist was would be presiding and he agreed. So I got a triazepam tablet and a nicotine patch She described it as a 'chill pill'. till theweekend. My BP stabilised and I was taken up for the procedure. They got me up the next day and the physios then went through the exercises I had to do 4 times a day. One of them was bending both knees as much as I possibly could. The first time, I managed 90 degrees in my right leg and 86 degrees in my left. They couldn't believe it the day after the operation. I wasn't quite ready for discharge the next day as my haemoglobin was a bit low, so they put me on iron tablets. I was out the next day with a knee bend of 100 degrees in my right knee and 96 in my left. The physio said I was made of very tough stuff. I had a couple of visitors to the house yesterday, both bearing gifts of Carling .I'm walking up and down stairs with no real problems, doing my exercises religiously, but I'm leaving the Cheese till the weekend. Today is the first day I've had a little pain, but the tramadol should kick in shortly, as will the weed when I've skinned up. Thanks for all your heartfelt concern. I now really am Steve Austin
Nice one RHC - good to have your silver tongued self back among us You are taking things carefully aren't you "but I'm leaving the Cheese till the weekend"
