Good Morning Everyone Over 30,000 Leeds fans turned up in the driving snow to witness a Leeds Utd side short of ideas and low in confidence. It would be fair to say that Leeds had the better of the first half even though the Wendies had a goal disallowed (for offside) in first half injury time. A couple of points I would make:- Why leave Lassoga on the bench for 70 minutes? With the weather conditions, it was always going to be difficult to get into the game - surely? Ekuban- a sole striker???. It was plain to see he needed support up front. As a lone centre forward his performance was dire and dare I say half hearted. Next Peacock-Farrell. If he wasn't a Leeds lad, would we be be raving about him still? There were two diving saves he made in the first half - both comfortable, albeit the seconf save (with the acrobatics) made it look a better save than it was. Take the Wendies (no2) keeper as an example, Wildsmith. He is a year older than PF, but imo looked far more accomplished, and pulled off a string of fine saves in the first half to keep out Ekuban and Alioski at point blank range. Thoughts? Leeds are now bottom of the form guide since Boxing Day. We have 11 days left until our next game. What do we have to do to get a result? What does Heckingbotom have to do to keep his job?
What did everyone think to Saiz’s performance on Saturday? Didn’t notice him myself but one of our more vociferous experts from here said he had a good game funny what a couple of beers does, especially if you haven’t had one for a while I guess
Felix makes him look like Neuer by comparison, Signing that Kraut is another dodgy deal. Some ****er (Agents/ Orta/Rad?) is making some serious money out of whats going on.
Fecking Spanish all look the same to me.... it wasn't the beer/ vodka it was the cold..... I was expecting a PM today? Hernandez at least looked like he was bothered.
Good morning Elland & all One of the coldest days in my 55 years watching Leeds United, must be age thing !!! Can't be too critical of BPF, he's young & was thrown in the deep end due to the inability of Wiedwald & Lonergan. BPF has done well imo Lassoga should have started even though our movement is better with Ekuban upfront, he couldn't hit a cow's ar*e with a banjo though I'm unsure what any manager/coach could do to achieve a win with our average bunch
Good morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey Interesting that PH has a similar record to Revie when he began is career here thank goodness Glory wasn't about or he would have gone to Bournemputh where they wanted him as player manager Heck has been let down by the team conceding late goals that have cost 6 points Derby Shef W Millwall and Reading I think that Orta needs to go having bought Ekuban Cibrikki Sacko Pennington albeit on loanthge young lad from Man U on loan absolutely no better than what we had
Morning all Mirco Antonnuci cant be playing every game as he has only played half the minutes of most on the top scorers list, but still has a good record scoring 8 with 6 assists and a goal every 114 minutes. Pity we had to let him go! Ekuban isnt a striker and wont be this season especially as a lone striker. Mike: You may be correct wanting PH to be given time but I think most people who are now getting worried about him want to know the reason why so many players have gone backwards since he arrived and some vanished completely form wise? BPF: Chuffed for him but lets remember his career had stagnated, he went out on loan and returned quickly, went off to Sweden to a club in a nothing league who wanted to buy him, but they sent him home within 3 days as he wasnt good enough. Big worry that, but fair play to PH he had issues with both first choice keepers so was forced to speak to BPF and then put him in the team. He has dome fairly well but is far from being the finished article and in my view he along with Felix and Lonners need moving on in the Summer
For me, the big difference back then was that Revie had control of the transfers, if you were good (which he obviously was) you’d find emerging talent more easily. Even if we brought the next “Revie” in the top clubs have all the young talent on their books. Teams like Chelsea with U13, 14, 15, 16 type squads, reserve teams of 30+ players it’s diabolical what Sky money has done to our game. Look at Roofe, the best striker the lower divisions had scoring for fun but at this level he struggles. There needs to be a change at the top, the PL clubs need to have strict limits on how much u18 they are allowed. There needs to be more filtering to the lower leagues, not on loans but permanent deals
