Hmm, good idea Bustino, but am not sure whether I have the stamina to pick something in all of these races. Am surprised to see that it is possible to see all the entries for one or two races, e.g. the Golden Jubilee Stakes, but it is obviously possible. Question, as I have certainly missed something along the way, why does the horseracing trainer N. Henderson's cheerleader call him Lieutenant N. Henderson? I have not re-checked this, but since this gentleman is a civilian, he cannot retain his former army rank (presume he was in the army?) as only ranks of Captain and above can be kept after leaving? One example being the late Captain Ryan Price. In the R.A.F., it is a Squadron Leader and above. In the Royal Navy, haven't a bloody clue. "The Scandal of 2018"? God, one could think about that one for weeks on end. Will do my best to complete the list, otherwise "No Bet".

He was made a Liuetenant in the New Years honours list!

Ohhhh, a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order, thanks Stick. I had thought it had some kind of military connection and forgot about the 2018 Honours List..........

The Lieutenant was awarded personally by The Queen as opposed to all the other ‘New Year Honours’ which are almost exclusively put through by Downing Street. The awarding of the Lieutenantship (or whatever the correct term is) is for, and I quote, "those who have served the Queen or the monarchy in a particular way".

To be honest I was a bit put out by the award as all he actually does is shovel hay and the like down a few horses throats whilst I, in comparison, work my fingers to the bone at the coalface for ‘Queen and country’ on a daily basis.

Still, my Head of Department has written to the Monarch recommding me for inclusion in next terms ‘list’ so this time next year I also could be a Lieutenant. Swanny, practice your marching and saluting for when I am properly anointed.

Hern became a CVO, which I think is one up from L. But honestly why didn't Hern get a knighthood: Murless and Boyd Rochfort did? Shameful really, and a missed chance by Mrs Windsor to tidy up an embarrassing situation.

Update End of Cheltenham: the early leaders (those with 10 points plus)

1st OddDog 18 points
2nd Quarter Moon 15 points
NDS 15 points
4th Redcgul 13 points
Sir Barney Chuckles 13 points
6th Ron 11 points
7th Mallafets 10 points
Stick 10 points

Well done to all of you. Don't worry about OddDog's early lead, his dark horse has already blown out (sadly Horses in Training shows Gosden no longer has him in training).

Gutted. Ought to demand a recount... <laugh>

I never had a penny on Penhill because it had not run forever – when I picked it in January, I expected it to have a prep-race first.

A group of friends played a ‘Scoop 6’ based on the last six races each day at Cheltenham. It is £5 to enter and the scoring is 12-6-3. On Friday I had a fourth (zero points) and a second at 25/1 (six points); and lost to a guy who knows nothing about racing but picked the Gold Cup winner. Just how crooked is it? He liked the name! <laugh>

Already sceptical about some of my flat picks... shame the Lincoln was not on here as I have been told Taqdeer each way ante post.

OddDog
Don't know what plonker gave you that Centroid horse but he is still in training but has been transferred to Weld.
So still some possibilities.

I'm coming back to this as i never had a penny on Native River even though i was
certain it would win.

Numpty I am.

At least some folk managed to pick a horse that RAN in the National but the news coming out of Ballydoyle today does not bode well for our most popular 1000 GNS pick, Clemmie. Sounds like she has had a small setback and they would have to really push her to be ready for Newmarket on May 6th.

Dark Horse of 2018 Flat Season (has not won before 15th January 2018) – Crystal King (in training with Sir Michael)

I see this one makes his debut tomorrow (4.55 Newbury). Sir Michael though has 2 in the race and old boy Ryan is on the other one – Shareef Star. Just seen on the ‘Sporting Life’ website an article ‘purring’ re this Shareef Star incidentally. By Sea The Stars and his dam won a Listed race in France. He cost 700,000 gns and is in the Derby (66/1 available).

Getting more cosy at the top after this weekend's results. At least all of us are on the scoreboard now (that's Woolcombe [10 points] and me [8])..

OddDog 23 points
Ron 21
Quarter Moon, 20
Redcgull, Sir Barney C and NDS 18 points

All to play for
