What surprised me about a lot of the games yesterday is that they were played with a yellow ball. What happened to the orange one??

I remember not being able to see much, for much of this one, from Bunkers

Get it done you soft ****. Every two years from 40.

Get it done now & and I’ll personally give you the six you’ve missed so you're up to date. Full service history, so to speak.

We are basically safe, the teams at the bottom are so **** this season that they only really get points from us. Yet we beat the mid teams & put up a decent performance against the top ones.
It’s going to be a record low points to stay up this year IMO.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how low the lowest points have been to stay up previously?

If we play like we did yesterday, they’ll beat us. They’re up for the fight.

In last 20 odd years, Portsmouth got third relegation slot with 40 points in 2012 (so 41 would have been safe) but Leicester had 52 points and got relegated in 2008.

Pompey went down on 40 with a 10 point deduction for being in administration.

    Really? <doh>

Aston Villa, Wolves, QPR up next.

And we're 6 points ahead of Brum.

Stat yesterday was that, of teams that have played in the top 4 flights for each of the last 11 seasons, Sunderland have won the least games (100 wins), 35 less than the next nearest.

I can't help thinking that a fair few of those have been against us.

Garry Monk knows the importance of a good warm up.

Beaten on the pitch and in the warm up.

B.B. Can’t agree with you at all. I think we need another two wins to be safe. Maybe it was playing the three games that led to a lower performance level and the Blues wanted it more. For me a point would have buried them yesterday and yet we can’t make it happen when we need it. This season isn’t over yet but in two recent games we have played like it is already done. It’s happened too many times this year for us to think it’s done and dusted. I will relax after it’s certain we are safe and I am not 100% confident we can tough this out. It’s not over til it’s over.
