Did Watford have a death wish, playing a back 3 against Salah, Mane and Firmino... crazy.
I cannot believe how Watford played today. Salah is (whisper it) a very very good player and scores at will if given the freedom of the park. Putting him under surveillance is almost essential if opposing teams don’t want to concede. I am surprised some managers have not realised that.

Nice to see solid defence performance again. Couple of shaky moments when we gave them the ball but overall all 5 were solid composed and did what needed to be done.

Just a bit rusty is all. The effort and style is there and thats what counts for Klopp. Sturridge may be a good finisher, but he was clearly mever going to make it under Klopp
Becayse he couldn't move without breaking a hip lol.....

Edit.... sturridge not Ings. .I like ings...keeps working and we stay in 4 comps he'll be grand

I may be on my own in this, but I really am sad to see what could have been Studge's best years evaporate in front of him and us. Whatever people may think, I'm sure he wants to play in this team, and, injuries excepted (!), when he played in a front three under Brod his movement, workrate and finishing were first class. Even that last cameo when we beat West Ham 0-4 towards the end of last season showed his innate class.

Alas, he's just terminally crocked and should, sadly, be shifted off to the knacker's yard with Boxer. Reward for his efforts, I suppose.

There is no doubt he was top class...

And yep... be it physical, mental or both ....not seeing him on the pitch doing his best stuff for longer? Sad.

First of all, a thoroughly enjoyable game to watch. <applause>
The back ‘three’ should be able to turn into a five if everyone’s onboard. The craziness comes in the fact we haven’t played it regularly for ages, but it should be taken as a compliment to Liverpool. Hargreaves is a cock with his constant suggestions that Watford aren’t up to much; I thought we played pretty well. We pressed well, we won the ball in midfield a large number of times (although Capoue couldn’t really be arsed to do anything with it), we largely gave attention where needed - but all my words come with a massive caveat. Liverpool were brilliant. Salah is genuinely that term that gets hugely overused - ‘world class’ (doesn’t our/your former manager Rodgers use that term for anyone who crosses the line onto the field of play? ;)). Anyone who is a true fan of football cannot but watch and admire. The times he fooled, often several international players at a time, with his feints, his ball control, movement etc., was nothing but superb. The first goal I was convinced we had covered, but that ‘chop’ was sublime - no wonder he left a couple of our boys on their arses. Of course, Owen Hargreaves wouldn’t have been fooled, that’s obvious to all, <doh>.
Brilliant stuff from several others of yours, too. And, as I said, I was pleased with our play. If Richarlison had thus far learned the difference between attacking/defending headers (for guidance he should watch me bang my head against a brick wall), if we’d managed to hold out till Okaka came on (<laugh>), if we’d left Deeney on with the big O and gone 4-4-2... well, we’d still have lost... but... **** it! I enjoyed it, hope you did, too. Please beat Citeh in the CL, we’ll be cheering you on. Had a soft spot for Liverpool for many years, mainly because you are the best supporters, bar none. Twice I’ve experienced you clap us off the pitch. The first time, I was about 14/15, I had to ask my Dad what was happening. <laugh>
Enjoy the rest of your season and good luck with it. <ok> <applause>

we could have had a 100 mil striker for 12 mil. he had 1.5 good years. he was a top top talent but its long gone. its sad to.see but hes been well rewarded by our club foolishly throwing 150k a week at him when it was obvious he was injured.

at least he is financially secure. perhaps he should give.punditry a go given sky habe a vacancy

nice solid display with the bonus of Watford committing defensive suicide by playing a back 3 leaving Salah half an acre to run into :1980_boogie_down:.

nice to see that finally Salah getting on the end of one of Robertsons low crosses as i expected that to start happening a couple of months ago.
Though Henderson had a quietly effective game bar the worrying moment when he gifted possession with a poor touch in first half. The GD addition more tham welcome as it puts increased pressure on Chelsea.

Can't wait for the derby to see the scintillating display of football from Everton. I watched the Stoke game yesterday, the highlight was Charlie Adams being sent off. Neither team deserved to win the game was that poor.

Who said we play Sicilian football, we are gash. But never waved the white flag like Stoke did.
