I have a confession. I was upset when Hughes got sacked by Stoke. The man without the word relegation had in my opinion managed to escape that one word by getting the bullet. Whilst Pelligrino has done a job of making the Saints very negative, I wonder, whether there are any more R's fans like me who hope he can finally get the word Relegation stamped on his CV by taking his current team down.

I always thought I wasn't bitter and twisted...but on seconds thoughts

Me too. I emailed a friend who is a Soton fan and said,

"What sin have Southampton committed to end up with Sparky (or 'Sparkless' as he is known to QPR fans!) as manager?!

He had a chance at QPR - with very good funding - to prove his pedigree and failed miserably. To be fair, he has probably learnt from that messy episode.
Time will tell. Not sure if you ever listen to Talk Sport radio but Joey Barton and Hughes probably don't send each other Christmas cards!"

He replied:

"Yeah. Underwhelming appointment. The general feeling is that we had to take what we could and there wasn’t a lot of choice. Fans are glad it’s just a short term contract with options to look further afield in the summer."

We watch with interest.

Doesn't really matter what cobblers Mr Ambitious says about himself. Everyone knows that he was given untold riches to build a team, ****ed it up royally and would have been sacked at the end of the season. Similarly with Stoke although in fairness the players he brought in did do a job for him for a period of time before they got fed up. Being sacked twice by a club he managed and left in the relegation zone when they weren't in that position before his appointment doesn't make for impressive reading.

If he thinks his cv is that impressive, show me the silverware.

Wait.... what am I saying... I hope he takes them down... then down again... and again... and then out of the league entirely when he finally has an epiphany and comes to the realisation that having a best mate who's a multimillionaire football agent isn't an actual transfer policy.

Nothing against the Saints... just the arrogant, humourless egomaniac who thinks he is such a catch that he gets to 'interview' his prospective employer.

I know what set of fixtures I'd rather have if it was us.
 
Southampton have dropped into the bottom three after Palace's away win at Huddersfield. Their game away to West Ham in two weeks is a huge one.

Was at that game too ellers: they sang for most of the game “harry redknapp, we ****ing hate you”. They absolutely hate him down there. My saints mates are surprised we hate Spacky more than melty face harry.

I don’t, Hughes was incompetent and arrogant, Redknapp was lazy and evil.

Yes mate I remember it well. I sat next to their fans and when the final whistle blew a saints fan said something to me so I replied with something like "are you still living in the shadow of Portsmouth", He wasn't very happy. :1980_boogie_down:They spent the whole game singing anti-Redknapp songs instead of supporting their team, bloody coastal muppets

True.

'Kneegate' was his parting shot which I saw at the time was a deliberate attempt to weaken the club by walking out on us just *after* the transfer window had closed thus preventing a new manager any opportunity to get a deal or two over the line (even player loans/swaps given our financial situation).

Frankly I loathe both of them and their lazy approach to management - anyone with a big budget can buy players - the better 'managers' actually improve their teams through coaching
