I was reading this article and I agree with most that has been said.

Despite Man City's squad filled with the likes of Toure, Silva and Aguero I feel Man United's this year is one of the best I've seen in the Premier League. With the youth like Cleverly, Anderson, Young and Welbeck with some experienced heads like Ferdinand, Vidic and Rooney I feel this year United have the perfect balance and will be almost impossible to stop.

Citys defence is going to cost them any chance of silverware. Its shocking. Even the brilliant Kompany cant help it, however good he is the rest of them are quite simple some of the most average/worse defenders in footballing history.

A little early to predict that as we have just signed two new defenders, maybe a little wishful thinking on your behalf.

Do you not think the statement "But would you trust Aguero, Dzeko, Nasri and Silva to perform in the snow away from home at Stoke in December" is a little pathetic ?

Clichy isnt a player I have rated much before and I dont think he will make much difference. I dont know much about the other lad Savic.

Man Utd have a vastly superior manager. They also have a more balanced squad of players who have played with each other for years and have the experience of winning titles.

I agree on paper United should win it for all the reasons mentioned but as a certain commentator once said "its a funny old game"

No. One of them is playing his first season in England. Nasri is hardly proven in England either (half a good season albeit). Dzeko is looking good, the player that caused us plenty of problems when he was at Wolfsburg and Silva is a player that I'd welcome at United. But while all of them are ridiculously talented and this isn't me being condescending as a United supporter, I'll reserve judgment until they play at the Britannia on a cold, wet night.

Regarding the OP's question, I think it will be a 3 way battle between us, City and Chelsea. Personally I think City have enough to cement 2nd place, perhaps win another cup and progress in the CL. But I can't look past us winning the title again.

It is an uber cliche, but then those are the matches when the title is often won and lost. It was our ability to grind out arguably undeserved victories at Blackpool, West Brom and West Ham last season that saw us take the title, and our inability to do that same against Blackburn that cost us in 09/10. I have a feeling similar results like that may decide the league again this year.

VIR The Quest For Twenty please remind me who had the best defence last season, wasn't it Man City and Chelsea. With Joe Hart keeping 29 clean sheets. Please remind me how many clean sheets did Utd keep last season certainly know here near what Joe Hart had last season for City.

Man City, Man utd Chelsea and Arsenal will all drop points against teams that you would not expext them to drop points to. It is a question of who can keep the most clean sheets throughtout the season that will go along way to deciding where the title will go. Also who comes out best out of the head to head between those clubs. Any club which can pick up 12 points out of those 6 games will go along way to winnig the title.

Actually it more comes down to who consistently does just enough to get the win gets the most wins when they are having a bad day and don't really deserve the result. That's what decided the title for the last three seasons - the champions rarely have the best result from the head to heads in the top four, and only have the most clean sheets / best defence around half the time.

True. But titles are not won on keeping clean sheets.City now have to attack teams instead of taking the "not lose at all cost" route they must now change mentality and go for the "win at all cost's" mentality.Going to the Emirites and playing Tevez at left back does NOT win you titles. :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think you will see a very different city this season.I suspect we won't win the prem this season but I think it will have more to do with the fixing of the fixtures so that we have an away game after every CL game than any other factor. Was Howard Webb organising the fixture list?

Well perhaps you should check up before you make such comments
Utd had 4 home games and 2 away games in the prem after last years group games.

City: too many individuals, they will struggle when the going get's rough and they have to pull together. United on the other hand are perfectly balanced and can grind out results when the going is tough, and they play for each and as a team. This is the basis on which titles are won. The title will be between United and Chelsea this season I feel.
