    So let's say he turned qpr down and stayed, then he broke his leg and come july he would be a free agent with a serious injury, and unlikely to get an offer anywhere near what qpr put on the table. Not to mention the fact the club don't want him and mrs has got one in the oven, ignoring the fact you're a newcastle fan, would you really have stayed? Honestly?

    I would have stayed, to go to QPR and to stay he would only leave for a top team is an insult. He forced it on himself by slating the club on twitter too much. Also he has enough to live off for the rest of his life. Also who stood by him when he went to jail?

    To be fair to him, he said the stuff about only leaving for a top team before he was made available on a free. I don't agree with the people that say he said all this stuff on twitter to make the club sell him, so he looks like the victim in all this. If he didn't care about the club then why would he care what the fans think?
    I don't want to defend him too much because i don't think it's solely Ashley's fault, i just don't understand why people would boo him.

    what i don't get is he has signed a three year deal but wasnt he at some point offered a two year extension.

    Don't worry. They'll be more than counterbalanced by ostrich style head-in-the-sand comments about how the squad this season is stronger anyway, and how Barton would get sacked by our employers, blah blah blah.

    Apart from the striker and LB position; the team is stronger in depth than last season.

    This ostrich has his head out of the sand.
