At a guess, we'll play more of a 433 like we did against Bournemouth. Something like... (insert goalkeeper and back four here) Sissoko Wanyama Winks Moura Alli Lamela
Most of the squad players haven't done enough this season in the games they've had. We were knocked out to a West Ham B team in the League Cup and needed replays against Newport and Rochdale in the FA Cup. Swansea represent our strongest test in the competition so far and seeing as we're out of Europe, the need for rotation is minimal for me.
Totally agree with this. Add to that we needed Kane to rescue the Wimbledon tie and we limped through against Barnsley. Unlike last season, the wider squad players simply haven't stepped up when it mattered and therefore shouldn't be relied upon at crunch time. With no CL fixtures and players like Wanyama, Lamela and Toby with barely any minutes under their belts, we might as well go full strength.
Plus we haven't got a league match until 1st April. Anything less than full strength is unforgivable, save Vorm, who has probably justified keeping his place.
Can see Llorente starting this one...maybe he deserves it after the last round...however it was only Rochdale. Plus Poch will do the whole loyalty thing.
I don't understand how anyone can make a case for Son not to play?! He's in the form of his life scoring goals for fun. He's 25 years old, had 6 days off, will be desperate to play. Who cares if he has to travel for Internationals! We need to win this simple, it's our only chance of winning something this season. Right now I would argue he is our best player so has to start.
It's about time we beat you, you've had your way far too much against us, at least we'll have the home advantage, Jordan Ayew will be a big loss for us, so the Chelsea youngster Abraham will start, and no doubt Dyer on the Wing in support, we are no longer the whipping boys of the first half of the season under the clueless and gutless Clement, Carlos wants to win, but knows how to organise a strong defence, so looking forward to this one, we have no pressure on us so may the best team win, and I hope you don't do your diving all over the pitch tomorrow................
This is another reason we need our A game. Carvalhal has done a great job so far with you guys and you don't look easy meat at the moment. He seems a proper decent bloke as well, made some humorous quotes in the media, I like him. I had a chat with Dele last night, after seeing Welbeck get away with that dive against Milan, he's more determined than ever to pull off some awesome displays and show the world who the real boss of deceiving refs is . In all seriousness, while it pisses us off to see Dele do those antics as we don't like to be associated with cheating, near enough all clubs are doing it these days, that's not a vindication to say it's OK to do so but the only major difference is that there seems to be a real witch hunt in the media for Alli about it. What they don't realise, is that the more they hate on Alli, the better he gets, they've managed to make the whole country hate him and yet they don't seem to understand that he thrives off of it. Bournemouth were the latest ones to find that out, booed him from minute one and so he goes and grabs a goal and assist (celebrated by cupping his hand to his ear at their fans). Dele's a massive ****, there's likely not a Spurs fan that'll say otherwise, but he's our **** and we love him .
Double diving it is then VAR tomorrow so best to pack a dinner if you're going as it's going to last awhile. United and Brighton fans will be out in time for Sunday lunch if theirs goes to penalties. We do have a ridiculous record against you guys since you got promoted. Same with Southampton and Bournemouth are heading the same way too. It's a shame as you're all the teams that at least try to play good football against us. Be glad you're not Stoke, 3 4-0s and a 5-1 in our last 4 games
This game is important. It's feckin' important to the club and the fans! We SHOULD and MUST treat it with that degree of importance and commitment. We should be fast out of the traps, pressing the hosts all over the park. What will likely happen is that we turn up still wearing slippers, pyjamas, and dressing gown, dribbling toast crumbs! We'll go a goal (or 2!) Down in 15-20 minutes and then wake up, but struggle against a well-drilled Swans defence. An ignominious exit from the competition beckons. We're doomed I tell you! Vorm and Sissoko the only major changes. I can live with that so long as the boys put in a performance. Good to see Lucas getting a start!
Strong bench as well - just hope they're not needed Only surprise? Our very own super snowman Nando not getting the nod as the white stuff falls
Dissapointed that we havent gone with our strongest line up today, considering its the international break next. Great to see Lucas starting though. With Son on fire we still have enough to win this against a poor Swansea side.
