There’s a Wethers in Beverley? Me and Mrs G are thinking about moving to Beverley and that might have just swung it. I have to say that some days I find Beverley very post McMafia James Norton and others it’s more like a pre Peaky Blinders Cillian Murphy. It’s part of the attraction.
Disappointed this isn’t a thread about Bev Callard. I was looking forward to some saucy pics & a quick one off the wrist whilst my sausages cooked. I had a few beers in Beverley last month before heading out on a coach trip. I managed to walk 8000+ steps, after the coach dropped me off in the town centre around half past midnight. Found the hotel about half 3. They could do with a few signposts to help pissed up visitors get into bed.
Was drinking there a few years back when that ginger lass Eleanor Thomlinson(?) was at the bar next to me. This was pre Poldark when she just done some that soppy film I **** you not. Proper card carrying thespian.
Ahem. Of course . Its decent.but so are a lot of the pubs in Beverley.great place for an afternoon on the razz
No but there’s a Spoons. Every single time I’ve been drinking in Beverley the threat of violence has been palpable. There always seems to be loads of squaddie-types itching for it, and it’s kicked off several times a night, every time. Is it always like that or is it a coincidence that when I’m there, people get angry?
I’d never heard of her - who the **** watches Poldark? - but just googled her and I defo would. She’s someones daughter etc etc.
I am of the opinion, that the young lady in question, on obtaining a lucrative acting role promptly departed her home town.
I moved to Beverley when I was 13 and spent 11 years there (moved out in 1998). The infrastructure was already beginning to creak back then - attempting to drive into town on a Saturday was a waste of time! Great choice of shops, pubs restaurants etc, but just too many people for it's medieval street layout. More houses still being built now that the Southern bypass is in place. If you avoided the market square pubs (Push, Kings Head & Green D) then you could generally avoid the pissed up squaddies. It was a great place to spend my teenage/early 20's years, and it's a great night out, but I don't think I'd ever move back, given the choice.
Which battle cruisers are you frequenting Bummers? I’ve never had that experience, then again maybe me and my mates are the (ex) squaddie types you talk of and it was me you were cack scared of. Ya great big pansy.
