It sure helps if you can avoid the best until the final though

At least we know we can match City.. That may be a mental edge. Then meet one of the European big boys in the semi if we are good enough to get there, with Anfield second leg, that would be much more of a occasion.

Look, there's no room for that sort of positivity on this board.

They beat us 5-0 at City and we narrowly won 4-3 at Anfield. I wouldn't say we have an edge on them

Away goal can be crucial, it's now 50:50. No underdog in cup competition.

Yes ignore all other matches where we have been a massive bother to them. Just pick the one game where we were down to 10 men. The fact is I think these games will be tight and City will know we are a different side to the one they played at Etihad. Key is to carry, a first leg advantage to the Etihad preferably with a clean sheet (not happening).

I really wanted a foreign team to see how the boys will crack on but I'll enjoy the game either way.

City will be favourites as they are the best team in the country at the moment and playing great football, plus they won't be worrying about the league games while Liverpool will still need results in the league.

But it's a cup game. Anything can happen and if you get a good enough result in one of the games you can make the semis.

If I was a betting man I'd be going for City though.

Arsenal rode their luck? Milan had some half decent chances but never looked like overcoming the 2-0 first leg and only scored a wonder goal ultimately losing 3-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate. Arsenal well and truly deserved to win both games and the tie.

Was a ridiculous dive though <laugh>

Lads how is this a bad draw

    1. Any team in this is a good team
    2. Real, Barca, Juve and Bayern not drawn
    3. Oh **** is what city should be thinking.

Ok you might want to see a different team and different style than the english teams you will see every week of the year. i get that

I'm just happy to be in the draw. now we just go play it.

I think if there is any team City would have NOT wanted to face, it would be Liverpool. Their record at your home ground is terrible. If you can keep it tight at their home ground and maybe get away with a narrow loss or a draw (with away goals), I see no reason why you can't progress.

great draw for arsenal to progress from.

I wouldn't be travelling to russia as a fan though

    Liverpool v Man City
    Barcelona v Roma,
    Sevilla v Bayern Munich,
    Juventus v Real Madrid

Its a draw thats not thrown up a real wow tie.

Barca roma... in general i think we can predict that one.
    Seville v bayern? no contest
Juve, v real. closest one to a big tie. It is a repeat of prior finals. but as such its oh again...

well that us boned then :)

we are never keeping a game tight anywhere.

it'll be full on two games.

It makes or next two league games even more important. Must wins to build up points before this cos it will be huge effort

If(if)we get through there's an outside chance a one or maybe couple of the the Barca/Real/Bayern trio won't(yeah very slim chance), if that did happen it would make the draw for the semi-final very interesting.:emoticon-0105-wink:

It's not a bad draw in terms of opposition quality. It's a boring as **** draw, most wanted a non-English team; aka someone we don't see every week
