You should try Karhu (bear) beer.

Off to Lapland at the end of the month for a bit of cross country skiing to the nearest bar

We have many arrogant, backward and quite frankly primitive people in this country - they are not Russian though and yet we constantly placate them. Kinda strange isn't it?

Putin dictator - four more years of Merkel. I wonder what country will be more stable internally in the next few of decades?

Meanwhile, T-May is posing for "point over there" pictures in Salisbury. I mean, seriously? Why is she there, to look at Zizzi's and say "blasted Russki's. Damn their eyes"??

Wtf is wrong with THIS country? The ****ty, half-baked ignorant arsewipes we have as 'leaders' are among the most rancid, pointless, questionable "human beings" on the ****ing planet.

Merkel narrowly won a general election and ends up with half a year of negotiations ending in a grand coalition with her social democratic opposition - not her ideal outcome I'd assume.

Meanwhile in Russia, Putin has opponents imprisoned or killed, disqualifies genuine parties of opposition from running in elections, and routinely coasts to majority victories on an ever decreasing turnout as the Russian people switch off and give up on democracy (less than half of the electorate voted in the last election in Russia). The price of 'stability' is knowing you might be killed by the secret police for speaking out. None of this is hyperbole, it happens all the time in Russia.

Her opposition? Yeah right. The only difference between them is the 'conservatives' saying 'Lets take a million a year' and the SD saying 'No - lets take One and half million!'

Also, my original point still stands - what country will be more internally stable in 20 years? Russia or Germany? What will the latter really resemble in two or more decades?

Tell me, did blessed Mama Merkel ask the German people when she flung open the gates to - what? More than a 1.5 million people? The vast majority not being Syrian refugees but economic migrants - well I say economic migrants - the vast majority still out of work to work but enjoying all the welfare. Why do you think they target Sweden and Germany and not really seek asylum anywhere else?

Also - back to Russia. I truly believe if Putin wanted him dead - he would be. I want insurmountable evidence Russia did this. I remember the government giving us 'evidence' before on WMD's to drag us into a pointless war leaving devastation and destruction. They really told us the truth then didn't they?

Strange as well only ten days after this attack Porton Down Defence insititute - only up the road from Salisbury, recieved nearly 50 million boost in funds. Hmmm.

Really seems to have degenerated into an arguement as to which which country is the biggest s**t on the Planet.

Ultimately, for me, it’s a question of degree. All “Leaders” lie to their own Country by not telling them everything about everything. But then again they would be stupid to do so as some things need to be kept confidential otherwise the security of the country would be compromised.

At the end of the day this country attempts to adhere to the principles of democracy and free speech much better than most countries on the Planet and, I for one, am pleased to live here.

Russia has been mentioned and you honestly have to be next to an idiot to try and defend Putin & Co on just about anything; democracy, free speech, human rights with Putin & Co the list goes on. On the supposed other side of the coin the U S of A falls almost into the same bag as Putin & Co albeit for some slightly different reasons; guns, racial division and Trump to name but a few. One is as bad as the other.

Ignoring issues of weather etc I can’t think of one country which is generally better than our’s. A few may be the same level but not better.

Ultimately if we have evidence showing Russia were involved in the Salisbury attacks then we should do something. Extremely difficult to say what and for that I will leave it to the politicians to decide but the attacks cannot and should not be ignored. Doubtful we have 100% proof but we will have something and cannot imagine we would do this without something fairly persuasive against Russia. If we allow the Russians to commit these attacks and do nothing then we might as well become a satellite country for Russia.

Other countries may do similar things and if they did in our patch then we should respond. But to say Germany has issues is totally irrelevant to this issue. At this moment in time we have nothing to suggest Germany, or indeed anyone else, has committed this type of atrocity in our Country. We have evidence to show Russia has and we have to respond.

    Well said.

I have a feeling that our politicians and security services may be holding back a lot of information regarding other Russian attacks on our soil. As well as Litvienko being bumped off, I do think others have met a grisly end (a lot of talk in the media about certain Russian businessmen/enemies of Putin being assassinated) and our lot, quite rightly, have thought enough is enough...particularly when a nerve agent has been used.

My point with Germany and most western 'democracies' is the illusion of choice.

I also believe our governments are not always truthful with us and, if necessary, will lie to us to further their own ends. Dragging us into destructive wars at terrible costs being one.

The belief in the West that we should intervene and spread 'liberal democracy', almost that 'we know best, honest' has caused no ends of grief. Christ - there is a reason for Gaddafi, Assad, etc Strong men are needed to control certain countries - David Starkey once said 'People don't like being ''freed'' 'and if you think about it there is much truth in that statement. They do want 'liberal democracy'. Have people ever stopped to think about that? The Western media didn't even cover the anti-Christian violence in Syria in the early days of the Arab Spring, a journalist at the time asked another why and he said 'Its not sexy enough'. Assad again isn't perfect but if he gets removed in some Gaddafi style manner - it will be the end of the Christian minority there - make no bones about it.

Putin is a dictator. So? Sever all ties with Russia? Have we done that with other countries with terrible Human rights records? - China, Israel, Saudi Arabia but hey the latter have women drivers now, so that makes it ok I guess.

What really irritates me the most is media outlets talking about 'Dirty Russian money' flooding London but dirty Arab money is totally acceptable. The industrial might going into mosque and madrassa building in this country from Wahabist teaching from Saudi Arabia and Qatar is bad enough, the money from Pakistani into Deobandi extremist mosques (over 800 from the last count) is even worse. Just as orthodox as Wahabism but hardly anyone talks about it - teaching young children to despise the Kuffar but we worry about Russia who 'attempted' such a brilliant assassination that one; doesn't get the job done and second, leaves an easily detectable nerve agent which was then identified in a lab' 8 miles up the road from the targets home!

This isn't a possible Iraq we are talking about here - we are talking possible destruction - the sheer magnitude is incalculable. I am just questioning such apparent certainty.

It's either the Russians and they want everybody to know it's them, or it's someone trying to make it look like them. Personally, I think the former is more probable. Litvinenko was killed with a poison which was to deliberately make him die a slow undignified and, I assume, painful death. I'm guessing this will have the same outcome but that is yet to be proven, however I would doubt whoever used the nerve agent thought it would kill them instantly. It seems to be a very clear message being sent in that it won't be an easy death if you spy for Russian 'enemies' and there is no hiding place. We can have doubt while something isn't 100% proven but that also holds true for believing a different explanation.

We have a lot of arrogant people in this country. Not at all unique to Russia.

Russians though have an especially large chip on their shoulders when it comes to anyone else. I thought parts of the UK and US were bad. **** me....Moscow, St Petersburg and Novograd especially take the prize for sheer dumpiness, racism, xenophobia and arrogance.

The World Cup is going to be carnage. Russians hated this country before this poisoning. They hate us even more now.

I don't believe Russians hate our country - the Hooligans still see England as top dog amongst organised violence at football and want to prove themselves by leathering us. They don't understand that times have changed over here in regards to such ******ery.
