Agree and for example and correct me if I'm wrong but is this not why Oasis used a capo?

Some songs are obviously easier than others. But there’s little point in playing in a key that your vocalist can’t hit with any degree of clarity.

Mate, either post your own rendition that shows us all how it’s supposed to be done, or pipe down.

He’s a decent guitarist and he’s not professing to be the second coming of ****ing Hendrix <laugh>

You use a capo when you want to play in ‘open string’ mode to change the key, yes.

Hotel California is a classic example with a capo on the 7th fret.

Capo just moves the open tuning up to whatever fret you put he capo on. You can do the same by barring the fret with your finger.

Transposing a whole song into a different key to suit a vocalist can be a head **** though if you’ve already learnt your licks

True. But it frequently has to be done. Which is why it’s always best to practice in different keys.

Not what he would have you believe but he is decent enough for playing to an audience in a boozer. Just like a real concert. <laugh>

Yep, had to do it loads when the vocalist decides they want to sing ina different key. It just takes a bit of time to work it all out. But playing bass sometimes you run out of notes in the scale and have to play some parts in an octave up or down. Depends on the complexity of the song really.

It’s not that difficult. But as I said, playing bass lines, sometimes transposing into a different key means that you have to play some parts in a different octave, which kind of chops the bass line up a bit.
