Can’t say I noticed anything major. All guitars go slightly out of tune due to being played, the atmosphere you’re playing in, etc. It’s not always possible to make minor adjustments in the middle of a number.
Agreed but when he is covering someone else song he is seldom in the right key and subsequently sounds only vaguely like what he is attempting to play. The Hendrix wav. was a perfect example. Alternately he could be going mutton jeff with age.
Yes, as he has already posted up himself. play the Hendrix number and listen to the beginning, sounds like another song altogether.
You normally have to play in the key that best suits your vocalist. Unless your vocalist has a very good range.
Music wise though not everyone whants to be technical so using a different key or not looking at the tuning too much is common. Maybe not so much with what he was playing I suppose but it is relevant.
That used to do my nut in having to transpose all the notes to suit the vocalist. Kind of necessary though. To be fair, and I ain’t knocking HIAG, but the vocalist in their band doesn’t seem to be able to find any sort of consistent key.
