Signed. I'm afraid we join the list of mismanaged clubs. The implications of the owners not winning the appeal against the FFP fine and the money having to come from the club are as serious as can be. Actually, it jeopardises the very existence of QPR. When Bernie and Flav took over, we were so excited about the future but fans from other clubs came on the message board to warn us that we might be the next Wimbledon or Portsmouth. I dismissed that at the time but how tragically accurate those prophets of doom were. I wish I could turn the clock back to when we were many fans' favourite lower league club without pretensions of grandeur. The more I learn about our situation and what FFP might mean, the more resigned I am to being in the footballing wilderness for many a year to come.
Thanks guys. Too many clubs are in the same predicament as our clubs and it is this issue we need the EFL to stand up and be accountable for. They are quite happy to let owners suck the lifeblood out of clubs. Anyway, we will see how we get on with the petition . I have a softspot for the R's as my daughter lives round the corner from Loftus Road stadium. When I see your ground, I know she is not far away when we pop down to see her. Keep up the great work guys, we have a long way to go.
I will call it anything you like as long as it generates support for the petition Are you guys going to be the first area of London to change colour on the petition map???? Now there's a challenge for you
We are nearly at the first milestone of 10k signatures Plans are afoot to broadcast the petition more widely in order to maximise sign ups
We ahve just found out that under Premier League rules, Oyston was NOT deemed a fit and proper owner. The EFL stated that he WAS a fit & proper owner - I wonder if that was because his son was on the EFL board at the time????? It also makes you wonder if being relegated from the Prem in the way we were (i.e. no investment) was due to Oyston's premier league 'unfit & proper' status and the possibility of him not being in a position to own the club any longer It all starts to make sense now
We feel your pain Mate. The fans of all clubs (except Millwall) deserve better. Wish you success with the petition.
The thing is, because of our owner even if we had beaten West Ham in the playoff final the year after relegation from the Prem - chances are, we would not have been promoted!! How screwed up is that??? keep on signing the petition guys
