Actually you are right they do some of that too. I'd forgotten the weekly emails of "Excellent candidates" I get from agencies. I'm not sure how you get on those lists though, I'm pretty sure I am an excellent candidate but they never seem interested. Anyway I'm probably off topic now!
What you need to do is register with the agency and if they don't find you a job in a month you get on the "excellent candidate" list
It is no wonder there are so many clubs in financial difficulties. If we employ an agent to move a player on e.g. Ghilas then it is only right that we pay a fee, but a reasonable fee. If we want to sign a player and that player has an agent to find himself the best deal then the player should pay and not the club. Why should we be held to ransom by these parasites? The figures released are they for all the deals done during that period or do they include money paid for previous deals. I do recall that at one point when some accounts were released we did owe a considerable sum for agents fees. I also recall I think that we paid half a million for the agent who robbed us by selling us Ghilas. No wonder we nearly went bust.
