Even when Becchio's back, we'll still need Keogh in the squad. He can hold up the ball well, and would be perfect to challenge Becchio for a place as the targetman/hold up striker.

McCormack is quality and alongside Luciano they'd be a good partnership.

I think it would be interesting to see how McCormack does behind Becchio in a 4-2-3-1. Luciano coming back along with the emergence of Nunez and McCormack (properly) and the signing of Keogh gives us so many different options in attack. If we wanted to now we could even afford to field two completely different 3-1s (if you know what I mean) and count on both to be effective, and we know we can count on 4-4-2 aswell when we need to keep the midfield tighter or want a forward partnership.

Keogh was awful V Donny, lazy as fook. He is generly seen as a grafter who runs the channels and that's it! To compare him with Becchio is like comparing Nunez and Trundle! In front of goal he's horrendous, he should be buzzing after playing well in the last two games but give him a chance in front of goal and he turns into billy paynter!!!

Trust me, come January we will all be glad to see the back of Keogh.

We seem to have lost all aerial threat from headers from corners and crosses. Becchio will provide that threat as well as providing the capabilities that Keogh has.
With Becchio in the side it provides many options as he can play as a lone striker with a 5 man midfield behind him which allows Howson to roam whilst Clayton and Brown sit in central midfielder roles as playmakers. You could even have Howson and Clayton in that role and allow Nunez to play Howson's role.
Or you could play 4-4-2 with Howson and Clayton central and Becchio playing off McCormack. Becchio won't score that many this season as he isn't the main man but he will revert back to a similar role as he did with Beckford I reckon.

I dont know i still think that keogh will be keeping becchio out of the team. He doesnt score as many goals but then i dont generally go on one good goalscoring season to say someone is a good goalscorer. Theres always been something about becchio that i thought has been missing and i think Keogh alongside McCormack is a very good partnership so dont change it.

And if in a 442, i cant see Becchio getting 20 goals, same goes for keogh obviously, McCormack will be the goalscorer this season. The player who plays alongside him will have to do all the hardwork and graft which both are capable of. I tell ya what though if we bring in Forssell and he does decent as well we may have one of the best if not the best set of strikers in the league.... This isnt even considering playing gradel and nunez as strikers as well

Im no bates fan, most of you here know that by know, but where is his history of selling players? Apart from Delph, the decent ones are kept till contracts run out. Its not ideal and id love to see some like Gradel get improved contracts, but we cant compete with any premiership club or one thats just been relegated. Arsenal have more of a history now of selling players than Bates.

He won't because I still have a very strong feeling Gradel will be out in the next few days, hope I am wrong but I don't like some of the words being spoken by Simon, it is like he is preparing us for the departure of Gradel because Nunez has stepped up to the plate. Not that we wouldn't be a better team keeping Gradel...

    Gradel ---- Nunez ---- Clayton ---- Snodgrass

On the bench Brown and Howson

    Howson on the bench?

The way I see it Becchio will still be the main man this season as I think we should (and probably will) rotate Becchio in a 4-2-3-1 for Keogh and McCormack in a 4-4-2. We have the ability to rotate in forward areas now, with both players and formation, and I think we should use it.

I'd prefer howson be on the pitch to everyone of those players. But it does show how good we are looking especially in forward areas

I think Howson is over rated, I know lots of fans disagree but Nunez over Howson and I hate seeing players out of position so yes, Howson on the bench...

I think howson is underrated. I know this is a big debate between leeds fans, you either think he is great or ****. i think he is the best leeds player personally

lol i accept that. When he plays the team play, maybe so far this season he has been a little under the standard for whatever reason but i would still have him in the team over anyone else, and actually alot of people faulted him for the west ham game saying he was our worse player but he wasnt. He actually played the dirty role to allow clayton to player a freer role and it worked.

Saying this, grayson does need to be prepared to take him off if he isnt playing well or drop him if he isnt fit
